Major General Do Hong Lam symbolically presented 100 million VND in support to the representative of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin. |
After merging the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan (old) provinces, the whole association has 2,900 members, of which 1,819 are victims of Agent Orange. At the same time, the whole province currently has 1,447 resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals who are receiving monthly allowances. The association has mobilized organizations and individuals to support more than 566 million VND; the association at all levels has organized the presentation of 3,682 gifts to Agent Orange victims with a total amount of more than 1.4 billion VND. In addition, the association always performs well the work of monitoring and protecting the legal and legitimate rights of Agent Orange victims; coordinates with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and associations, socio-political organizations, and banks to resolve loan procedures for Agent Orange victims to improve their lives...
In the coming time, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin will promote propaganda and mobilize resources to care for and support Agent Orange victims in difficult circumstances; award the 6th "seeds of hope" scholarship to children and grandchildren of Agent Orange victims... At the meeting, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct relevant units to continue implementing the Action Plan to overcome the consequences of post-war chemical/dioxin toxins in Vietnam in the province for the period 2021-2030; competent authorities consider and allow the establishment of a commune-level Association, which is assigned tasks by the Party and State, is provided with operating funds and assigned leadership and staff targets at the commune-level Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Do Hong Lam highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, and at the same time requested the association to continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity, unity, responsibility and affection for victims of Agent Orange. When there is a decision from the superiors on organization, the association needs to urgently disseminate, guide and perfect the organization of the association at the commune level, perfect the personnel according to the correct process and procedures; actively mobilize resources and go deep into the grassroots, take practical care of members; proactively mobilize agencies, units, businesses and people to join hands to share with victims of Agent Orange; do a good job of preparing to organize the congress and events commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2026)...
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin awarded 4 livelihood support packages and 50 gifts to Agent Orange victims in difficult circumstances in the province with a total cost of 100 million VND.
