The workshop was organized by the Asia - Africa Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in coordination with the Vietnam Halal Certification Office and the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade.
According to the information at the conference, the market of Muslim countries is a large and rapidly growing market globally. In particular, the Halal industry (the industry that provides products and services that meet the standards for Muslims) in general and Halal food in particular is large in scale and has high development potential in all continents from Asia, Africa to Europe and America.
Despite its strengths in the processing industry, especially the food processing industry, the business community in reality does not have sufficient information about culture, consumer habits, as well as information about the market, trade regulations... to be able to access the domestic and foreign Halal market.
Therefore, Vietnam has just entered the Halal market at an early stage, has not really captured a significant market share in the Halal field, and the export capacity of Vietnam's Halal products is still low. In addition, Halal is a concept that is little known; regulations on Halal verification and certification tend to be increasingly strict, diverse and complex.
At the workshop, managers and experts supported and consulted valuable information about the markets of Muslim countries, Halal certification requirements for the food industry, as well as for restaurants and hotels, thereby being able to access and expand exports to the Halal market.
It is known that in recent times, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has continued to create a favorable legal framework for international cooperation to develop the Halal industry in Vietnam; negotiate and sign trade agreements and treaties.
At the same time, support Vietnamese organizations and businesses to work and learn with agencies and distribution systems of countries with large markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE...
