Flowers in the garden attract visitors.

From the 24th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake (2025), several flower gardens in Tuc Tien flower village, formerly Tuc Duyen ward, now part of Group 40, Phan Dinh Phung ward, have been bustling with people. Instead of going to the flower market and joining the crowds, many people go directly to the gardens to buy flowers for Tet (Lunar New Year). For them, personally selecting the flowers and planting them in pots according to their own preferences is an extremely enjoyable experience. The garden owners are also very happy because they don't have to take their flowers to the market, and they can sell them at a higher price.

It's been a long time since the flower gardens in the old Tuc Tien village have been so lively. At this time of year, the gardens are displaying their vibrant, fresh, and eye-catching blossoms under the spring weather. Despite the light rain and the muddy ground clinging to their shoes, flower buyers still wade through the gardens, selecting their favorite branches. The flower sellers are also very accommodating, choosing whichever branch they like.

Many customers who come here to buy flowers also bring along pristine white flower pots. Once they have cut enough stems to their liking, they carefully place them in the pots, adding garden soil to ensure the plants stand upright. Gardens of chrysanthemums of all kinds and colors, as well as lily gardens, are also attracting customers.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thanh, from group 32, Phan Dinh Phung ward, said: "In some years, when I bought flowers from the market for Tet, I ended up buying flowers that had been kept in the cold for too long. As a result, the flowers only lasted 2 or 3 days before wilting and losing their vitality. This year, I went directly to the garden to buy flowers, so I'm sure they will stay fresh and beautiful for a long time."

While chatting with us, Mr. Thanh quickly bundled the vibrant, colorful chrysanthemums into a large bouquet. According to him, buying flowers directly from the garden not only keeps them fresh longer but is also cheaper than buying them from flower shops in the market.

Accordingly, the price of chrysanthemums of all kinds ranges from 4,000 to 6,000 VND per stem depending on size, and lilies only cost from 50,000 to 60,000 VND per stem with 5 or more buds. What he found most interesting was the experience of harvesting fresh, vibrant flowers. He said: "That feeling makes my soul feel relaxed, happy, and more enjoyable than buying flowers at markets or on the streets."

Flower growers are also delighted when customers come directly to their gardens to buy flowers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Que, who has been involved in flower cultivation for over 20 years, said: "Almost every year I grow over 10,000 chrysanthemums, costing about 5 to 6 million dong for seeds. With the current selling price, we flower growers will have a more prosperous Tet holiday."

Lilies at the garden in the old Tuc Tien flower village, now part of group 40, Phan Dinh Phung ward, are very popular with customers.

Joy was also evident on the faces of the lily growers in Tuc Tien flower village. For example, Mr. Nguyen Van Khiem's family cultivated over 2,000 red lily bulbs, each with 7 to 8 buds, and over 30,000 chrysanthemum plants. After deducting investment costs (over 20,000 VND per lily bulb) and 15 million VND for chrysanthemum seeds, he had a successful Tet flower harvest this year. He said: "After the storms and floods in October, this year's Tet flower harvest has provided us with a considerable amount of money to cover our living expenses."

Besides chrysanthemum and lily gardens, gardens of daisies, gerberas, violets, and hyacinths also attract many customers. Flower sellers have effectively marketed their products on social media platforms like Zalo, Facebook, and TikTok. Through pictures, videos , and contact addresses and phone numbers, flower enthusiasts can easily find the locations of these gardens.

Buying and selling flowers directly from the garden benefits both the seller and the buyer. However, through middlemen, flower gardens are often forced to accept lower prices; the wholesale price per stem is only half of what they would pay if they sold directly to flower enthusiasts, leaving them with very little profit.

Choosing flowers directly from the garden allows flower enthusiasts to buy fresh flowers at significantly lower prices compared to buying at flower markets ( currently, at flower markets, a single chrysanthemum stem can cost up to 7,000 VND, or even 10,000 VND, while lilies cost from 70,000 to 80,000 VND). Especially, the feeling of being immersed in nature and taking photos amidst the vibrant flower gardens also helps flower enthusiasts gain positive energy before the Lunar New Year.
