“It’s a pity that Quang Hai is absent this time. I hope he recovers soon and returns in the next training session,” Hoang Duc shared.
Quang Hai was absent from the Vietnam national team training camp twice in September and October. If he returns, the Vietnamese team will have more creative options in attack, especially in the context that the team is testing many new faces under coach Kim Sang-sik.

Hoang Duc also shared about his physical condition. “I was in pain so I couldn’t practice with the team yesterday. Today, I returned to practice, maybe only after this practice session will we know more exactly how my body is,” said the midfielder born in 1998.
Looking back at the 3-1 victory over Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on October 9, Hoang Duc assessed that this was not an easy match and the whole team needed to make the most of scoring opportunities.
“The whole team won with great difficulty. When we had the advantage of having more players, we did not take full advantage to score more goals. That is something the whole team needs to adjust in the next match. We have learned a lot of experience and are actively preparing for the return match at Thong Nhat Stadium. I hope this will be a good match,” he said.
Hoang Duc also commented positively on coach Kim Sang-sik calling up many young players from the U23 team to the national team. “This is something that brings healthy competition. Not only for the two matches with Nepal, but also helps the team prepare for longer-term goals, including the SEA Games,” he said.
Currently, the Vietnamese team maintains its high spirits after the opening victory under coach Kim Sang-sik. The whole team continues to train with high intensity to prepare for the rematch with Nepal on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium, aiming to win all 3 points to consolidate its position in Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
