What products does Hoang Huong sell that have revenue of up to thousands of billions?

The news that Hoang Huong was prosecuted by the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency for the crime of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences" on October 3 is the focus of public opinion.

According to the investigation agency, this person made money by building an ecosystem of 18 companies, 25 business households and 44 individuals to sell functional foods and health protection products. At the same time, he directed employees to legalize revenue through households and individuals to evade taxes.

Notably, Hoang Huong left nearly 1,800 billion VND in revenue off the books and incorrectly declared value added tax with revenue of nearly 2,100 billion VND over the past nearly 4 years.

From cosmetics, household appliances to health foods

Before being prosecuted, this businesswoman regularly livestreamed sales on a series of Facebook and TikTok accounts with millions of followers. For example, "Hoang Huong 88" (1.6 million followers), "Hoang Huong Cosmetic Dentistry" (1.5 million followers), "Hoang Huong International Dentistry" (2.3 million followers)...

In the period of 2021-2022, Hoang Huong mainly trades in pharmaceutical products and health protection foods with personal brands, notably Hoang Huong Medic Care mouthwash, bone and joint pills, Hoang Huong blood circulation, liver and stomach supplements...

The prices of these products are quite high, for example, mouthwash costs 199,000 VND, equivalent to 597,000 VND/box of 3 bottles; bone and joint pills cost about 350,000 VND/bottle, blood circulation pills cost 555,000 VND/bottle...

Recently, Hoang Huong has expanded her business products under the Meli brand. Specifically, she often appears in many introductory videos and livestreams selling products from cosmetics, shower gel, shampoo, laundry detergent, mouthwash to hemorrhoid gel, blood circulation under the Meli brand.

For example, melasma treatment cream is priced at 999,000 VND/box; Meli Hair shampoo and conditioner are priced at 599,000 VND/bottle; Meli silver shampoo is priced at 299,000 VND; laundry detergent is priced at 699,000 VND/box of 4 bags.

Or health protection products such as Gold New blood circulation product priced at 555,000 VND/box, if you buy a combo of 3 boxes you will get an additional box priced at 1.66 million VND; Meli Gold HH mouthwash priced at 297,000 VND/box of 3 bottles; Sure Bone Plus joint milk priced at 799,000 VND/box; female hormones priced at 699,000 VND/box...

Who are Hoang Huong's customers?

According to research, most of Hoang Huong's products are manufactured by many different companies, including Thien Duoc Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. The products that Hoang Huong sells are mainly aimed at middle-aged and elderly customers, especially women, with quite high prices.

Notably, in livestream sales sessions, the businesswoman often launches many attractive promotions, big lucky draws such as motorbikes, cars, gold... to attract participants and buyers. The more products people buy, the more chances they will have to win the lucky draw. This strategy makes many older women become loyal customers, buy products regularly and trust the name of Hoang Huong.

Not only that, Hoang Huong also often exaggerates the product's effectiveness. For example, with mouthwash products, this person confidently declared that the product can "cure bad breath from the past to the present life" and "cure long-term gingivitis".

Or the advertised bone and joint product "solve all bone and joint problems from head to toe". Even in a livestream, this person declared "all bone and joint diseases from head to toe, I solve them all"...

These advertisements help Hoang Huong build strong trust with older customers - those who are particularly concerned about health such as bones, joints, teeth and age-related physical problems.

In particular, the businesswoman also builds her image through charity activities in Nghe An, Quang Binh, Ha Giang , to create prestige and trust from customers.

However, in many livestreams, this person both gave out charity gifts and sold products such as bone and joint milk and shampoo, while pledging to donate a portion of the revenue to support people in flood-affected areas. This approach caused many reactions, some people thought that Hoang Huong took advantage of charity to polish her name, advertise products and boost revenue.

In 2022, Hoang Huong caused a stir when she used the image of little Mua Thi Dua (born 2008), a H'Mong ethnic in Ha Giang, famous on social networks with the nicknames "Little Man Thau Ha Giang", "Phung Phinh".

Specifically, Hoang Huong brought the girl back to Hanoi, claiming to help her by feeding her well, dressing her well, and sending her to an international school. However, in reality, the girl mainly appeared in livestreams advertising Hoang Huong's functional food products. Amidst the noise, at the end of 2022, Hoang Huong announced to stop cooperating with "Phung Phinh".
