On the afternoon of October 4, in Hanoi , Bach Mai Hospital held a ceremony to announce the paperless, smart hospital-school management system and launch the authentication and digital signature feature on the Bach Mai Care application via VNeID.

Bach Mai Hospital was also honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag and the Ministry of Health 's Certificate of Merit, and at the same time opened the 2025-2026 school year of Bach Mai Medical College.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan assessed that Bach Mai's implementation of the entire electronic medical record from November 1, 2024, the development of the Bach Mai Care application - the first hospital to digitally sign and authenticate via VNeID - and AI research to detect early lung cancer are important steps forward.

"This is a clear demonstration of the "smart hospital" model that the Vietnamese health sector is aiming for, using technology as a driving force to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment," said Minister Dao Hong Lan.

Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, said that the hospital has set out six strategic pillars, including: digital transformation, multi-organ transplantation, robotic surgery, stem cells, gene therapy, and 3D printing in medicine.

The Director of Bach Mai Hospital affirmed that the development of specialized science and technology is considered a decisive factor for sustainable and breakthrough development; at the same time, focusing on specialized technical spearheads in each stage, linking investment in modern equipment with training of highly skilled staff.

"Thanks to this strategy, the Hospital has now deployed many modern techniques on par with advanced countries in the region and the world. Global modern medicine is shifting strongly from a reactive care model to a predictive and personalized medicine model.

This shift requires a parallel revolution: a revolution in data management and a revolution in the ability to deliver intensive clinical intervention," said Associate Professor Co.

According to the leader of Bach Mai Hospital, digital transformation is becoming an inevitable trend.

"We officially announce the deployment of the paperless, comprehensive smart hospital management system and the Bach Mai Care application that integrates authentication and digital signature via VNeID.

Integrating VNeID is not only an administrative utility but also a key premise, creating a safe and legal electronic identification and authentication mechanism for all medical records. This is a strategic step towards implementing national electronic health records," said the Director of Bach Mai Hospital.

According to Associate Professor Co, Bach Mai is creating standardized data, ready for connecting and exchanging medical examination and treatment data between medical facilities nationwide.

At the event, the Minister of Health assigned 5 key tasks to Bach Mai Hospital: Maintaining its position as the leading medical center in the country; enhancing scientific research, especially in the field of digital transformation; training high-quality medical human resources; providing technical support to lower levels to reduce the load on central hospitals; and putting the second facility in Ninh Binh into effective operation.
