On the morning of August 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association coordinated with the family of musician Nguyen Van Sanh to organize a program to introduce the author and works of musician Nguyen Van Sanh with the theme "People's words are like mountains and rivers" .
Introducing songs about Uncle Ho
The program took place at the hall of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations, introducing 20 songs by musician Nguyen Van Sanh praising President Ho Chi Minh , learning and following his teachings.
This is one of the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association Nguyen Quang Vinh shared with Tuoi Tre Online that musician Nguyen Van Sanh wrote many songs about Uncle Ho, and won many awards from the central government and Ho Chi Minh City.
“Composing songs about Uncle Ho is not easy, but musician Nguyen Van Sanh has turned texts, learning stories about Uncle Ho or popularizing Uncle Ho's poems into attractive songs.
Each composition is the musician's deep feelings for Uncle Ho, hoping to convey it to the younger generation through familiar, easy-to-listen folk songs" - Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh added.

Nguyen Van Sanh's compositions are easy to learn and remember.
The songs are all heavily propaganda, but musician Nguyen Van Sanh conveyed the message in a gentle, non-dogmatic way.
He chose familiar lyrics and folk-inspired music that was easy for listeners to remember.
The song Echoing Uncle Ho's words composed by musician Nguyen Van Sanh based on the famous quotes of President Ho Chi Minh is a typical example.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, musician Nguyen Van Sanh was born on October 20, 1947, in Tay Son, Binh Dinh (now Binh Phu commune, Gia Lai province).
He is a member of the Vietnam Musicians Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association. In 1967, he was a student at Saigon University of Science, a member of the Lua Hong group, working with musicians Nguyen Xuan Tan, Vu Duc Sao Bien, and Mien Duc Thang.
In 1968, he was in charge of the art movement at several disaster relief centers of the Saigon Student Association. At this time, he composed: My Country, In the Heart of the People, and Baby's Song.
In 1969, he was the leader of the Saigon Student Art Troupe, and one of the four musicians who founded the "Sing for my people" movement, along with musicians Tran Long An, Truong Quoc Khanh, and Ton That Lap.
From 1970 to 2008 he held many positions. From 1999 to 2008 he was the director of the Ho Chi Minh City Cultural Center.
Since his retirement, he has continued to compose. He currently has more than 100 songs registered at the Copyright Protection Center.
