On February 14th, the Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) launched a training course in collaboration with Meta Group, Vietnet Information and Communication Technology Center (Vietnet-ICT), and VTC Netviet Technology and Communication Joint Stock Company. "Digital skills and internet safety for students".
Equipping students with digital skills and self-protection knowledge is more urgent than ever.
The course is well-structured, easy to understand, and suitable for the psychology and learning abilities of middle and high school students. It includes five main topics: introduction to the digital world ; digital foundation knowledge; digital health; digital interaction; and preventing online scams.
The topics not only provide theoretical knowledge but also include practical exercises and real-life scenarios to help students develop critical thinking and self-protection skills in the online environment. In particular, the content is updated according to the latest technological trends, helping students not only use the internet safely but also learn how to effectively utilize digital platforms for learning and personal development.
Through this course, middle and high school students will be equipped with essential knowledge including digital skills and online safety. A highlight of the program is its special attention to deaf and hard-of-hearing students, with learning materials designed to incorporate sign language in instruction, tailored to their learning abilities.
This is a significant first step, opening up opportunities for equal access to knowledge for all students, including children with disabilities, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to stay safe online.
According to the Cybersecurity Department, in the context of rapid technological development, children and teenagers spend a large portion of their time online for learning, entertainment, and communication. However, along with the benefits come risks such as cyberbullying, cyber fraud, privacy violations, and internet addiction. Therefore, equipping students with digital skills and self-protection knowledge is more urgent than ever.
The course is completely free, with flexible and convenient learning times; it provides comprehensive skills to help students confidently use the internet safely and effectively.
