Venerable Thich Nghia Thuan (physician Doan Ngoc Loi) examines a patient
Tue Tinh Duong Traditional Medicine Clinic was established in 2000, the heart and soul of Venerable Thich Thien Phuc (real name Nguyen Ngoc Thanh). The Venerable - a monk and physician, devoted his whole life to practicing medicine to save people. Not only directly taking pulses and prescribing, the Venerable also personally searched, collected and prepared medicinal herbs to ensure the quality of each dose of medicine.
After the Venerable passed away, that noble mission was continued by Venerable Thich Nghia Thuan (physician Doan Ngoc Loi) and his disciples in the temple. Venerable Thich Nghia Thuan shared: “There was a time when I was an assistant to the master. After the Venerable passed away, I vowed to inherit and continue that path, taking the spirit of serving the health of the people and all living beings as the motto of my medical practice. Clinically, I encountered many cases of diseases such as spinal degeneration, hepatitis, kidney failure, stomach diseases, even cirrhosis, etc. No matter how difficult it is, as long as I am healthy, I will still contribute to helping people."
After the medical examination, people wait to receive medicine.
Under the guidance of the Venerable, the clinic still regularly maintains free examination, acupuncture, acupressure, and medicine dispensing activities for people every Sunday.
Coming to Tue Tinh Duong, patients are not only examined and prescribed but also carefully instructed on how to use medicine, diet and rest to achieve the best treatment results. Each prescription is enough for 7 days. On average, this place serves more than 1,000 patients per month.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (from Can Tho) shared: “I was introduced by a friend to come here for examination and medicine, and I feel much better. Here, Mr. Loi asks questions very carefully, and dispenses medicine without taking any money, so I really appreciate it.” Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem (from An Giang ) confided: “I have known Linh Nguyen Pagoda for a long time. At first, I only went to the pagoda to worship Buddha, but then I heard that they had medicine on weekends, so I came. After taking it, I feel healthier, cooler, and more comfortable.”

Many people after recovering from the disease have returned to support the clinic.
Every month, despite the support of many volunteers, the pagoda still has to spend about 45 million VND to buy medicinal herbs and equipment. Medicinal herbs are often donated by Buddhists and people from many places, helping to reduce costs and maintain the clinic's operations.
Venerable Thich Thien Truc - Deputy Head of the Inter-commune Buddhist Representative Board of Duc Hoa - Hau Nghia - Hoa Khanh - My Hanh, informed: "We always coordinate between the monks and nuns of Linh Nguyen Pagoda and the Inter-commune Representative Board to find medicine sources, ensuring enough medicinal materials for treatment. In addition, the Buddhist Executive Board also focuses on training monks and nuns with knowledge of traditional medicine so that they can practice medicine more regularly and for a longer time"./.
