A group of high school students in Hanoi collected more than 3.6 tons of paper, 655 kg of books, 2 tons of old clothes and 83.6 kg of bottles for "Lượm đây I 2024: Marelius".

This is an event organized by Striped Project for two days, June 15-16, at Dong Da Secondary School (Hanoi). This is also the first activity of the 10th phase of activities - with collection and recycling activities to raise public awareness, spread a profound message about environmental protection with the participation and support of people throughout the capital Hanoi.

Striped Project is an environmental and community project founded in June 2015 by a group of high school students in Hanoi, with the aim of partially overcoming the current wasteful use of paper and wood resources.

Part of the collected products are brought to the collection point for proper treatment, the rest are recycled by project members into beautiful items to be sold at the "Phe Hour" recycling fair (taking place in November 2024) and as special gifts for disadvantaged children on a volunteer trip in February 2025.

As one of the participants in donating items to the program, Mai Tue Linh said: "My friends and I brought old books and clothes from the previous school year to donate. We are quite interested in the message that the project brings and hope that our small, lovely items can bring value to the community."

Head of the Striped Project Organizing Committee, Nguyen Dang Ha Anh, a student at Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, excitedly shared: This event is an opportunity for us to spread the message of environmental protection to everyone, encourage everyone to participate, and support the collection of unused materials for recycling. We hope to organize a useful playground to help students in the summer, raise awareness of preserving and beautifying the environment from even the smallest actions and not forget our sincere friend - nature.
