The exhibition was organized by the World Intellectual Property Association (Wiipa) at the Tokyo Ariake Garden Convention Center, Japan. The competition attracted 343 initiatives and products from 25 different countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, etc. Before the exhibition, the participating groups will send their product posters to the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee will select qualified products to enter the exhibition in Japan. This year, Vietnam has 4 participating teams, including 2 teams from Ngo Si Lien Secondary School:
- Team 1: Nguyen Phuong Linh, class 8A5 and Phan Le Duc Phat, class 8A4 with the product "Smart helmet", a smart helmet that helps ensure greater safety for motorcyclists when participating in traffic.
- Team 2: Le Khanh Thuy, class 7A2 and Phan Le Tue Minh, class 7A2.1 with the product "Smart dog collar", a smart collar for dogs that helps ensure monitoring of activities and safety for pets.
The products of both groups have been registered for patents. Under the dedicated guidance of Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Quoc Nguyen, students of Ngo Si Lien Secondary School have won many awards in this exhibition, including:
- 2 gold medals for both entries
- 1 international special prize ( Sakura prize) for the product "Smart helmet"
- 1 special prize from the Hong Kong Science Association for the product “Smart helmet”
- 1 international best invention award from the Hong Kong Science Association for the product “Smart dog collar”
The teams of Ngo Si Lien Secondary School received awards from the Organizing Committee.
To achieve the above results, the students had to spend days seriously researching the product under time pressure as well as finding ways to clearly demonstrate the difference in their group's product when compared to other products on the market. However, with their confidence, not afraid of difficulties and their own bravery, they brought back achievements for themselves and contributed to the school's record of achievements and tradition of studiousness.
Congratulations to the students who achieved high results in the recent science competition. Hopefully, after this competition, you will continue your passion for science, and this will also be the motivation for teachers and students of Ngo Si Lien Secondary School to continue to try and make efforts to achieve higher results in the next competitions!
