On the evening of May 23, "Gods of Martial Arts Vietnam" (GMA) held its first international event called "The Gathering of Gods" at GMA Arena, Ho Chi Minh City. The competition night had the participation of outstanding Vietnamese martial artists and their opponents - guest martial artists from many countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia.

In the highlight match, Vietnam's representative Bui Truong Sinh faced Cambodian boxer, Kun Bokator champion - Athchey Chanreach. Under pressure from his opponent's elbows and kicks, Truong Sinh skillfully took advantage of the opportunity to counterattack and unleash a beautiful flying knee, completely knocking out Athchey Chanreach.

The victory at GMA 05 is a strong morale boost for Bui Truong Sinh - the first GMA champion to compete in 2025. In this year's season, the Vietnamese GMA belt holders will enter high-level competitions with the "Regional Gods of Martial Arts" - a title given to the best international boxers from neighboring countries. The fierce competition to find the ultimate "God of Martial Arts" of the tournament is heating up every day.

Truong Sinh's finish at GMA 05 was also one of the most impressive knockouts/submissions of the event, demonstrating the class of a true champion. On the other hand, despite having to accept a bitter defeat from Athchey Chanreach's match, the fighters from Cambodia Top Team still managed to leave their mark, affirming their presence on the GMA stage.

In the Golden Rooster (57kg) weight class, representatives Long La and Sopanha Pheng both won against opponents Saw John (Cambodia) and Prakas Manimaran (Malaysia). The remaining representative of the country's top MMA club, Rin Saroth, finished Tanawat Ratchinnarit with a beautiful choke.

In the Cobra (55kg) weight class, Lien Phong MMA fighter Nguyen Thanh Duy had a completely convincing performance when defeating Le Nguyen Phuc from Tank Club. In the opening match, fighter Tran Thanh Sang declared his aim for the Tiger (68kg) championship title when defeating Tran Khanh Huan.

In the only match in the Black Panther (63kg) weight class, Lau Yik Long from Malaysia defeated Alex Keo in just 89 seconds, bringing the fastest win at the GMA 05 event. Before that, Kyaw Khant Win defeated Thanapon Rattanawong with a beautiful, technical choke. The most regrettable point of GMA 05 was that the confrontation between Le Huy Hoang and Ben Tu Tai could not end smoothly, when Tu Tai's foul on a groin kick caused him to be disqualified in the first round.

GMA 05 - The Gathering of the Gods of War is an event that marks the turning point of "Vietnam's Gods of Martial Arts" in its journey to seek challenges from international representatives. The tournament will organize a qualifying round for Vietnamese martial artists (finding challengers for Vietnam's Gods of Martial Arts 2024) and a qualifying round for regional martial artists (finding international martial artists to achieve the title of "Regional Gods of Martial Arts").
