The 19th "Dating Songs of 9 Rivers" Festival in 2024

For 4 days (from August 6 to 9, 2024) at Tra Vinh Provincial Convention Center, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee organized the 19th "Dating Songs of 9 Rivers" Festival in 2024.

The performance "The Voice of the 9 Rivers" gathered 14 mass art troupes from the provinces of An Giang, Bac Lieu , Ben Tre, Ca Mau, Can Tho city, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Long An, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Soc Trang and Can Tho University, with nearly 700 actors, artists and musicians participating.

With the theme "Convergence of the Nine Dragons Land", the Festival is a regional cultural event to celebrate the country's anniversaries in 2024, contributing to spreading UNESCO's recognition of the nation's traditional cultural values. At the same time, it promotes and introduces the image of people and culture of Tra Vinh province in particular and the provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region in general to friends across the country. This is also an opportunity for artists, artisans, actors, and musicians to exchange, learn, and develop expertise in editing, staging, and performing art programs. Thereby, contributing to orienting local cultural and artistic activities, preserving and promoting unique traditional art forms of the region.

Through the Festival, the aim is to introduce unique cultural and artistic activities associated with the life and production of ethnic people in the region, while at the same time promoting the image of people and culture of Tra Vinh province in particular and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region in general.

At the end of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 20 Gold Medals and 37 Silver Medals in 02 program contents and performances to participating groups and individuals. In particular, in the program content, Gold Medals were awarded to: An Giang Provincial Cultural and Art Center; Long An Provincial Cultural and Art Center; Ben Tre Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center; Tien Giang Provincial Cultural and Art Center; Tra Vinh Provincial Cultural Center.

In the performance category, Gold Medals were awarded to the following performances: Motherland of the Delta, Southern Variations (An Giang); Love of the Land - Love of the Southern People (Tra Vinh); Fly to the Land of Nine Dragons (Hau Giang); White Fields (Bac Lieu); Cuu Long Sediments - Cuu Long Dawn (Ben Tre); Phum Sroc Joy (Soc Trang); El Nino La Nina (Tien Giang); Suite of Victory Faith (Ca Mau),...
