Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Health , the Association of the Elderly of districts and cities and the Executive Board of the LTHTGN Club of 38 clubs in the province.
The project of the CLBLTHTGN model has a profound humanity, creating high community connection suitable for each village and group, mobilizing the participation of the elderly. Some clubs have organized enough 8 activities to improve the material and spiritual life of members, effectively implementing the resolution of regimes and policies for the elderly.
In 5 years (2020 - 2025), the Provincial Association of the Elderly at all levels has established 38 LTHTGN Clubs, with 2,090 voluntary members. 22/38 Clubs have received initial funding support, of which the lowest is 20 million VND/Club, the highest is 50 million VND/Club. Thanks to that, the Clubs have developed specific financial spending regulations and plans for members to borrow capital to develop the economy , increase income, improve the quality of life, and reduce poverty.
In order to improve the health of Club members, in 02 years (2024 - 2025), the Department of Health, the Provincial Association of the Elderly will support each Club with 01 blood pressure monitor. Actively participate in sports activities, improve health and regularly organize volleyball exchanges within the commune or with communes in the district and other districts.
The clubs have self-help and community support activities. Every month, club members help at least one member in difficulty by providing working days or goods; donating money to disadvantaged member families or performing common tasks to support the village... demonstrating the spirit of mutual love and support of the club.
In the period of 2025 - 2030, the Association of the Elderly at all levels strives to: Each commune and ward establishes 01 new club/year, operating according to standards; 30% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups have LTHTGN clubs, gradually building a care network, promoting the role of the elderly in the community; 80% of clubs have an income increase fund of 30 million VND or more; 50% of members of each club are supported to borrow capital or participate in activities to increase income, improve life...
At the conference, delegates exchanged experiences and proposed many solutions such as focusing on improving the quality of activities through training for the Board of Directors and key members on club management skills, resource mobilization skills, community health care, digital transformation, technology application; promoting socialization, mobilizing businesses and community funds to support the establishment and maintenance of club activities; launching competitions and contests between clubs to spread the spirit of self-help and community cohesion...
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 individuals and groups; the Provincial Association of the Elderly awarded Certificates of Merit to 02 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Project to expand the LTHTGN Clubs for the period up to 2025./.
