According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training , in the national excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year, there were 6,482 candidates registered nationwide, an increase of 663 candidates compared to the previous year.
The National Excellent Student Exam is an annual exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training for high school students. This year, the exam took place from December 24 to 26 at 68 examination councils with 13 subjects, including: math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, literature, history, geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese.
This is the first time the Ministry of Education and Training has included Japanese in the list of exam subjects and is also the first time the Ministry of Education and Training has applied the method of transporting exam questions through the Government Cipher Committee's system nationwide.
Preliminary assessments show that the delivery of exam papers went smoothly and quickly. The Ministry of Education and Training plans to announce the exam results by the end of January 2025.
The national high school excellent student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year is conducted according to the National Excellent Student Selection Exam Regulations issued with Circular No. 17/2023/TT-BGDDT dated October 10, 2023 of the Minister of Education and Training.
In this year’s national exam for gifted students, Hanoi had 260 students taking part in 13 subjects. The candidates came from 16 high schools in the city, an increase of 26 students compared to last year.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi has 234 students participating in the competition. With 184 students winning prizes (14 first prizes, 61 second prizes, 54 third prizes and 55 consolation prizes), 43 more than last year, Hanoi continues to be the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of prizes in the national excellent student competition and has maintained the leading position for over 10 years.
