VIC shares break out, pulling VN-Index up to nearly 1,670 points

The market today (September 25) increased strongly towards the end of the session with support from large-cap stocks, in which VIC increased by 6%, contributing nearly 8.5 points to the VN-Index.

At the close of trading today, VN-Index increased by 8.63 points (0.52%) to 1,666.09 points. HNX-Index increased by 0.37 points (0.13%) to 277.65 points, UPCoM-Index added 0.84 points (0.77%) to 110.49 points.

Total market liquidity reached over 1.1 billion shares, equivalent to VND30,345 billion. Of which, liquidity on HoSE reached over VND27,800 billion.

VIC became the highlight when it increased 6% to 158,000 VND/share, contributing nearly 8.5 points to the VN-Index. In addition, VHM, BSR , VCB, LPB, VJC also supported the index. On the contrary, VPB decreased 2.1% to 30,950 VND/share, being the main drag.

Notably, in today's trading session, foreign investors strongly sold net worth 2,200 billion VND in the whole market.

Specifically, on the HoSE, foreign investors net sold 2,062 billion VND. Of which, VPB was the stock that foreign investors sold the most with 260 billion VND. Following that,FPT and SSI stocks were also sold with 228 billion VND and 213 billion VND.

In the buying direction, VIC shares were bought the most by foreign investors on HOSE with a value of more than 102 billion VND.

On HNX, foreign investors net sold 141 billion VND. SHS was the code under foreign investors' net selling pressure with a value of nearly 107 billion VND; following CEO, IDC, NTP were sold from 9-13 billion VND.

On UPCOM, foreign investors net bought 3 billion VND. Of which, HNG was net sold by foreign investors 0.6 billion VND. In addition, foreign investors also net sold at MCH. ACV, ,..

Stock groups in today's trading session also had a clear differentiation. Real estate stocks recorded an increase with codes such as: SCR increased by 6.1% to 10,200 VND/share, followed by HPX (+2.9%), TCH (+2.3%), NLG (+2.2%),... However, many codes also decreased in price such as: LDG decreased by 1.7%, CEO lost 1.1%,...

Similarly, the banking stock group recorded increasing codes such as: PGB up 3.1%, BVB (+1.4%), LPB (+1.1%),... and decreasing codes such as: MSB,ACB , TPB, KLB, VIB, VPB down 1-2%.

Previously, at the end of the morning session, VN-Index increased by 0.44 points (0.03%) to 1,657.9 points. HNX-Index increased by 2.07 points (0.75%) to 279.35 points, UPCoM-Index added 0.95 points (0.87%) to reach 110.6 points.
