Ho Chi Minh City University of Science rewards many new students

(NLDO) - This year, the University of Natural Sciences will award about 22 billion VND in scholarships to new students with high achievements in the recent admissions period.

On the morning of September 12, the University of Science (VNU-HCM) held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, welcoming more than 4,500 new students from 34 provinces and cities across the country.

Among them, many new students have outstanding achievements such as winning high prizes in international Olympic competitions, national excellent student competitions, national science and technology competitions and excellent results in high school studies.

This new school year also marks an important milestone with the establishment of new training majors: Educational Technology, Land Economics and Statistics, expanding learning and research opportunities for students.

In particular, in 2025, the school will reserve about 22 billion VND in scholarships for new students with high achievements in the regular university entrance exam.

Many scholarships are worth up to 320 million VND, equivalent to the entire tuition fee for 4 years of study. In addition to scholarships from the school, students also receive support from partners and alumni to encourage learning, research and self-development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Le Quan, Principal of the University of Natural Sciences, noted that in the digital age, students should train themselves to be proactive and creative in learning, know how to take advantage of the power of technology, exploit open sources of knowledge, but at the same time, must be alert in selecting and verifying information to avoid falling into chaos on the internet. Train yourself to become responsible, ethical and dedicated citizens.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the University of Science has more than 1,450 scientific works published internationally (as of January 2024), students and lecturers of the school have won many prestigious awards, the ICPC HCMUS-AtCoder programming team is in the top 32 in the world - the highest achievement in 12 years of participating in World Finals.

At the same time, the school constantly upgrades facilities, expands scholarships, and implements many life and spiritual support programs so that students can study well, live better and be happier.
