Having just played a match against the U22 Malaysia team, coach Kim Sang-sik divided the team into two groups during this training session.

The group of players who played over 60 minutes yesterday only performed stretching and relaxation exercises, and received analysis and feedback from the head coach on tactical details from the previous match. The rest of the group trained with higher intensity, focusing on strengthening their physical fitness, improving their attacking coordination, and organizing their defense.
Before the training session, midfielder Nguyen Phi Hoang shared with the media about the team's morale and preparation for the semi-final match.

He said: “The atmosphere in the locker room after securing a place in the semi-finals was very joyful. Coach Kim congratulated us on the victory but didn't share much, because the whole team needed to quickly focus on the next match.”
Speaking about the preparation for the semi-final match against the U22 Philippines, Phi Hoang said: “Currently, we haven't done in-depth research on our opponent. The whole team is always focused and trying to follow the tactics given by the coaching staff. Today, the whole team will train actively and talk more to prepare as best as possible for the upcoming match.”

Having played a part in Vietnam U23's victory over the Philippines U23 in the semi-finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, Nguyen Phi Hoang remains cautious when assessing the opponent. He believes the Philippines is a strong team. The most important thing for Vietnam U22 when facing them is to stay focused and fight with the highest spirit.
The Vietnam U22 team will have two more days to finalize their preparations for the semi-final match. The goal for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team is to qualify for the final of the men's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games.
