Currently, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is concurrently Minister of Finance, and Mr. Nguyen Van Thang is expected to take on the new assignment.

According to the 8th session agenda, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. today: The Prime Minister reports to the National Assembly on the explanation and acceptance of opinions of National Assembly deputies discussing at the Delegation on the proposal to approve the dismissal of the positions of Minister of Finance and Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term.
The person proposed for dismissal speaks (if any). The National Assembly then approves the proposal to dismiss the positions of Minister of Finance and Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term by secret ballot.
From 11am, the National Assembly held a separate meeting, the Vote Counting Committee reported the vote counting results. In addition, the National Assembly will also elect members of the Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, and Head of the National Assembly Office, as Mr. Bui Van Cuong has been dismissed from his position as member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary General of the National Assembly.
