The Radiotherapy Center of the Provincial General Hospital is the first high-tech radiotherapy unit in Ha Tinh , inaugurated in early 2025. The center is invested in a multi-energy linear accelerator radiotherapy system with a 160-leaf collimator, a modern 16-row SIM CT simulation system, allowing accurate determination of the irradiation area and optimizing the radiation dose for each patient.

The team of doctors, engineers and technicians are all highly trained, with regular advice and support from experts and upper-level hospitals. After more than 5 months of operation, the center has brought practical results to patients.
Ms. HTL (Tuong Son, Thach Ha) 2 months ago suffered from digestive disorders, lower abdominal pain, bloody stools, and was taken to the Provincial General Hospital by her family with a diagnosis of rectal cancer. The patient was then given a simultaneous chemotherapy and radiotherapy regimen by doctors from the Department of Oncology - Nuclear Medicine. After 28 radiotherapy sessions at the center, the patient was discharged and continued to rest while waiting for surgery to remove the rectal tumor.

Ms. L. shared: “When I found out I had cancer, I was extremely worried about having to go to Hanoi for long-term treatment. But with the advice of the doctors, I stayed in the hospital for treatment and the initial results were positive, making it much easier and more convenient to travel for check-ups and radiation therapy.”
It is known that patient L. is one of many patients who underwent radiotherapy at the Radiotherapy Center of the Provincial General Hospital with positive results. After radiotherapy, they had fewer side effects and their health was more stable.

According to the summary, after more than 5 months of operation, more than 1,000 patients have received high-tech radiotherapy at the center. All radiotherapy costs are covered by health insurance according to regulations, thereby contributing to helping patients receive effective treatment right in Ha Tinh.
It is known that in the past, each year, the province had to transfer about 4,000 cancer patients to higher-level hospitals for treatment, causing many difficulties and costs for patients.
According to the procedure, after being examined, the patient will be taken for a simulation scan to determine the location of the radiation therapy. After that, the medical team will plan to calculate the radiation dose for the tumor, consult directly with experts at higher levels, and then take the patient for radiation therapy.

Doctor Vo Van Phuong - Head of the Department of Oncology - Nuclear Medicine, Provincial General Hospital said: "With the support of experts from higher levels, up to now, doctors and technicians of the radiotherapy area have completely mastered radiotherapy techniques. After more than 1,000 radiotherapy sessions, most patients responded well, had few side effects and made progress. The spirit and service attitude of the medical team is always improved, thereby creating satisfaction and peace of mind for patients."
