NDO - RMIT University Vietnam is offering free training for teachers nationwide as part of the university's initiative to support educators in improving their capacity to apply AI technology, especially generative AI, in teaching and learning activities.
The project and training program "Application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in teaching and learning" was implemented by a research team from the Faculty of Science , Engineering and Technology and colleagues at RMIT University Vietnam.
During November and December 2024, the project conducted training for more than 1,400 teachers, lecturers, and education managers nationwide. This included a series of online workshops, taught in Vietnamese, covering six topics covering aspects of integrating AI into education, from the UNESCO AI Competency Framework for Teachers and Students to AI applications for teaching and learning tasks.
In addition to the online workshops, the project team organized a two-day in-person training program in localities, through coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Thuan province and Can Tho city.
More than 650 teachers and district and school education managers participated in these live training sessions.

Group participants can review videos and discuss past workshops, as well as share their own multimedia creations using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Suno, Canva and Gamma, to receive feedback from other teachers and RMIT experts.
RMIT lecturer and project leader Dr Tran Duc Linh stressed that the project's goal is not only to introduce AI tools to teachers, but also to integrate these tools with appropriate pedagogical methods.
“The integration will equip teachers with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively leverage AI in teaching and learning activities, helping them design more engaging and effective learning experiences, and preparing learners to succeed in a future shaped by technology,” said Dr. Tran Duc Linh.
Participant feedback highlighted the practicality of the program. Teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Van from Lac Nghiep Primary School, Ninh Thuan Province, shared that the training content resolved the questions and difficulties she had encountered when using AI tools, helping teachers learn many new things so they can transfer knowledge to colleagues at school.

"This is the most enthusiastic and serious training course that teachers have ever attended, creating opportunities for managers and key teachers in Can Tho to be exposed to and learn about AI tools in education."
The program is a collaboration between RMIT University Vietnam, local education agencies and education communities in Vietnam. Through free and accessible training, this initiative aims to support the ongoing digital transformation of Vietnam’s education sector.
