More than 17,000 registrations for the assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education

(PLVN) - The 2025 Competency Assessment Test (SPT) of Hanoi National University of Education will take place on May 17 and 18 with a total of 17,439 candidates registered to take the exam.

In this exam, candidates register to take the following subjects: Mathematics, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography and use the exam results to apply for admission to regular university training programs, depending on the requirements of each university. From 2026, it is expected that the SPT exam will add the subjects of Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, and Technology.

According to Hanoi National University of Education, the content of the SPT exam will closely follow the 2018 general education program, ensuring compliance with the teaching, testing and assessment orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training . The exams will be designed in the form of a combination of objective and essay multiple-choice questions, with the score ratio divided reasonably according to the structure of each subject.

The exam combines multiple-choice and essay questions with appropriate scoring scales according to the structure of each exam; assessing the level of understanding of core knowledge and the ability to reason, analyze, evaluate, problem solve and be creative.

Candidates take the test directly in the examination room, answering questions by filling in the multiple-choice answer sheet and writing on the test paper.

Regarding the number of registered exams by subject this year, there were 13,182 Math exams (24%), 11,914 Literature exams (22%), 9,186 English exams (17%), 5,295 Physics exams (10%), 4,887 History exams (9%), 4,566 Geography exams (8%), 4,302 Chemistry exams (8%), and 845 Biology exams (2%). On average, each candidate registered for 3.1 exams.

In 2025, the competency assessment exam will be held at 7 locations including: Hanoi National University of Education (7,585 candidates), University of Commerce (2,028 candidates), University of Industry (2,981 candidates), Academy of Journalism and Communication (1,985 candidates), Vinh University (1,641 candidates), Quy Nhon University (584 candidates) and University of Education - University of Da Nang (635 candidates).

Hanoi National University of Education plans to announce exam scores before June 15, 2025.

Candidates will look up the SPT exam results on their personal accounts at the 2025 University Admissions Registration Portal. Candidates can receive the SPT exam result certificate directly or by post to submit to the university that recognizes the SPT exam results (if required) to complete the university admission procedure. Then, submit the certificate to the university that uses the SPT exam results for admission.

Up to now, there are 25 higher education institutions that recognize and use the SPT exam results for regular university admission.
