Master, Doctor Dang Thanh Tuan (Department of Surgical Resuscitation, Children's Hospital 1, Ho Chi Minh City) is the main lecturer in the program. More than 200 nurses from hospitals and medical centers in the Eastern region of Dak Lak participated in the training.

Master, Doctor Dang Thanh Tuan updates knowledge on the use of respiratory resuscitation equipment.

Mechanical ventilation is a very common respiratory support method and plays an important role in saving the lives of patients in critical condition. However, the effectiveness of treatment depends not only on the correct indication but also on the quality of mechanical ventilation care, timely monitoring and handling of complications during mechanical ventilation as well as the prevention of hospital-acquired infections during mechanical ventilation.

At Phu Yen General Hospital, ventilators are used not only in the internal and external resuscitation departments but have also been widely deployed in clinical departments with emergency rooms. The reality of ventilator operations at the hospital shows that caring for and monitoring patients on ventilators to ensure effective treatment is always a big challenge for the nursing team.

“That further confirms that organizing a training course with the goal of updating knowledge and improving practical skills for nurses in caring for patients using ventilators is a very practical and useful activity,” said Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoang, Deputy Director of the hospital, in his opening speech.

During the two days of training, nurses were updated with knowledge by Master, Doctor Dang Thanh Tuan and Master of Nursing Pham Thi Thu Thuong (Children's Hospital 1) through lectures: Using respiratory resuscitation equipment, Structure and operation of ventilators, Technique of taking blood from the radial artery, Technique of suctioning sputum through the endotracheal tube, Recognizing ventilator alarms, Caring for patients on ventilators, Disinfecting ventilators after use... The combination of theory and practice helps students approach knowledge close to clinical reality.
