On April 4, the Binh San Mountain Monument Protection Board of Ha Tien City held a ceremony and put into operation the tomb of Mrs. Mac Mi Co in Ha Tien City.
Accordingly, in the area of Mac Mi Co's tomb - a scenic relic of Binh San mountain, the locality built a communal house and a ceremony yard in front of the tomb in the Southern style (the architectural form is similar to that of Mac Cuu temple); built a resting hut next to the existing area (wooden column frame architecture, yin-yang tiled roof); expanded the radius of the ceremony yard, built a stone embankment and raised the yard floor.
In addition, the locality also renovated the campus lighting system with a solar energy system, underground electricity system... with a total cost of more than 3.4 billion VND (socialized source).
The restoration and embellishment of the grounds of Mac Mi Co's tomb aims to preserve and promote the historical and cultural values of Mac Mi Co's relic; enhance the value of sightseeing, research and spiritual tourism .
The tomb of Mrs. Mac Mi Co is not only a physical relic but also an indispensable part of the spiritual life of the local community. Every year, thousands of people from all over the country come to worship and pray for peace and prosperity.
Previously, Mrs. Mac Mi Co's grave was unsightly due to many spontaneous kiosks selling goods; some trees (such as Bodhi trees, Star Apple trees...) obstructed the view and right on the main axis leading to the grave; there was no roof and the concrete yard was uneven and bumpy; the old stone altar and incense burner were degraded...
According to information from the relic, Mrs. Mac Mi Co (born in Canh Ngo year 1750), during her lifetime she was very filial, gentle and diligent in studying.
She was the fifth daughter of Lord Mac Thien Tich and Lady Thai Phu Nhan, surnamed Nguyen, courtesy name Hieu Tuc; granddaughter of the town's founder, Mac Cuu.
People passed down the word of mouth to call her Ba Co Nam and praised her for her kindness, charity, and helping people. She died in late autumn of 1763.
After her death, she protected and saved people in times of danger and was respected by people throughout the region.
