Coffee price today June 26, 2025: Shocking decline

Domestic coffee prices have now fallen below the 100,000 VND/kg mark, an important psychological level that has been maintained for many weeks. This is a signal that downward pressure on prices is becoming increasingly evident in the domestic market.

Faced with this downward trend, in the past 10 days, many farmers have chosen to sell off their coffee because they are worried that prices will continue to fall. However, many people remain calm, believing that although prices have dropped by about VND40,000/kg compared to the peak, they are still making a profit so they are not in a hurry to sell.

On a more positive note, data from the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) shows that coffee exports are growing impressively. In the first half of June 2025, Vietnam exported more than 51,284 tons of green coffee, reaching a turnover of 271 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by 32.5%, while value increased sharply by 71%.

Robusta coffee continued to dominate with an output of 46,955 tons, bringing in 240.6 million USD. The increase was 44.8% in volume and 80.4% in value compared to the same period in 2024, showing the strong appeal of this type of coffee in the international market.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on two exchanges:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery September 2025: Down 132 USD/ton, to 3,528 USD/ton.

November 2025 delivery: Down 139 USD/ton, to 3,468 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

September 2025 delivery: Down 8.2 cents/lb, to 302.3 cents/lb.

November 2025 delivery: Down 9.15 cents/lb, to 296.7 cents/lb.

Analysts say the current decline in coffee prices shows no signs of stopping. The main reasons are favorable weather in Brazil, increased harvest output and profit-taking psychology of speculators continuing to dominate the market.

It is forecasted that the coffee market will not see positive changes in the near future as the new crop from Brazil is continuously brought to the market. However, some factors such as frost in Brazil or the weakening of the US dollar may create support for coffee prices in the short term.

In the context of abundant supply, no sudden increase in consumption demand, combined with the impact of geopolitical conflicts in many places, investors have withdrawn capital from coffee to switch to other assets such as gold and oil. This has also contributed to the sharp decline in coffee prices recently.

The industry body forecasts global coffee production in 2025/26 to increase to 171.1 million bags, shifting the market from a deficit of 900,000 bags to a surplus of 1.4 million bags. However, the coffee harvest in Brazil is currently slower than last year, with only 24.3% of the crop harvested as of June 20, compared to 34.2% at the same time in 2024, a factor that could have some impact on short-term supply.
