Emergency surgery helps female student who broke her leg in a motorbike accident in time to take high school graduation exam

On June 25, Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital announced that it had successfully performed emergency surgery on a candidate who had a traffic accident right before the 2025 high school graduation exam.

The victim was PHCA (18 years old, residing in Nghia Hoa commune, Chu Pah district, Gia Lai province), a candidate in the 2025 high school graduation exam which will take place tomorrow, June 26.

It is known that on the morning of June 25, on the way home, the motorbike driven by the police fell into a pothole, causing the victim to fall onto the road, seriously injuring the right ankle, causing a fracture, dislocation, and rupture of the extensor tendon.

When admitted to the emergency room, doctors assessed this as a complex injury, with the risk of affecting leg function if not treated promptly.

The surgical team quickly performed surgery to remove, fuse the bones, fix the joints and connect the tendons for the victim. The surgery lasted more than 1 hour in a tense atmosphere because the doctors wanted to do a good job so that the victim could participate in the 2025 high school graduation exam.

After the surgery, by the evening of the same day, CA's health had stabilized. The doctor assessed that he could take the graduation exam tomorrow morning.

To support the patient taking the exam, the hospital representative said that the doctors had planned to administer medicine and change bandages from 5am so that the patient could leave the hospital at 6am to take the graduation exam.
