This is an activity within the program "Lighting up the faith - Overcoming difficulties to go to school" implemented by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP), aiming to support and help disadvantaged students, students in remote areas, border areas - islands to have more conditions to study.
Attending the program were comrade Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, former Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper - the initiator of the program "Lighting up the faith - Overcoming difficulties to go to school"; Ms. Bui Thi Hong Suong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper; Mr. Pham Phung Hung, Deputy Director of ICD Phuc Long Company Limited; along with leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee of An Luong commune, teachers, parents and students of My Cat Primary School.

At the program, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper Bui Thi Hong Suong and representatives of sponsoring units performed the handover ceremony of the "Green Library" and "School Toilet" projects to My Cat Primary School.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 31 scholarships, Scholarship Fund and 456 warm coats in the program "Warm coats to school" of SGGP Newspaper to students in difficult circumstances. The total value of gifts and sponsorship items is 320 million VND.



Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper Bui Thi Hong Suong said that over 50 years of establishment and development, SGGP Newspaper has always been aware of its responsibility as a Party newspaper. Besides its information and propaganda tasks, the Newspaper has also actively implemented many programs for the community and for social development; in which, students have always been the subjects of interest, continuing through many generations of SGGP Newspaper employees.


“We pay special attention to educational values, focusing on children and students, supporting and creating conditions for children in disadvantaged areas to have the opportunity to develop comprehensively in knowledge, physical and mental health. From there, we contribute to lighting up the belief, helping children overcome difficulties to go to school, empowering the young generation to be confident, brave, have solid knowledge and become useful people,” Ms. Bui Thi Hong Suong emphasized.
According to Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper Bui Thi Hong Suong, the program "Lighting up the faith - Overcoming difficulties to go to school" was initiated by SGGP Newspaper in 2023, and has so far mobilized more than 32 billion VND, deployed at 31 schools in 19 provinces and cities across the country. Each destination is a journey of charity, where SGGP Newspaper employees are listened to, understood and accompanied by small dreams that need to be given wings.

Previously, on May 11, 2024, at My Cat Primary School, SGGP Newspaper presented a sponsorship package of 270 million VND from the companionship of Khang Dien House Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company. The gifts and sponsorship items include: 10 computers, 3 water purifiers, 40 sets of tables and chairs, 2 ceiling fans, 456 student backpacks and 50 million VND to build a scholarship fund.
Today, the program "Lighting up the faith - Overcoming difficulties to go to school" continues to accompany teachers and students of My Cat Primary School with the completion and handover of two projects "Green Library" and "School Toilet", along with gifts and scholarships for students.

In particular, the “Green Library” is an open learning space, helping students form the habit of reading and foster a spirit of lifelong learning; the “School Toilet” contributes to protecting health, improving living conditions, creating a safe, clean and beautiful learning environment...
On this occasion, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper Bui Thi Hong Suong sent her deep gratitude to the sponsors including Khang Dien Housing Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, Thien Hanh Investment Joint Stock Company and ICD Phuc Long Company Limited - enterprises that always put community interests alongside business development.


Receiving the above sentiment, Mr. Dinh Ho Tong, Vice Chairman of An Luong Commune People's Committee, on behalf of the local government, sent thanks to SGGP Newspaper and the program sponsors.
Mr. Dinh Ho Tong said that the locality will pay attention and direct My Cat Primary School to use the facility effectively, manage the scholarship fund for the right purpose, publicly and transparently, so that each gift and each scholarship reaches the hands of students who truly need support.
