This activity is part of the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program implemented by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP), aiming to support and empower disadvantaged students, students in remote areas, border regions, and islands to have better learning conditions.
Attending the program were Comrade Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, former Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper - the initiator of the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program; Ms. Bui Thi Hong Suong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper; Mr. Pham Phung Hung, Deputy Director of ICD Phuc Long Co., Ltd.; along with leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of An Luong commune, teachers, parents and students of My Cat Primary School.

At the event, Mr. Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, along with Ms. Bui Thi Hong Suong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, and representatives from sponsoring units, performed the handover ceremony for the "Green Library" and "School Toilet" projects to My Cat Primary School.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 31 scholarships, a scholarship fund, and 456 warm jackets as part of the "Warm Jackets to School" program of SGGP Newspaper to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The total value of the gifts and sponsorships is 320 million VND.



Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper Bui Thi Hong Suong said that for over 50 years of its formation and development, SGGP Newspaper has always been aware of its responsibility as a Party newspaper. Besides its information and propaganda duties, the newspaper has also actively implemented many programs for the community and for social development; in which, students have always been a target group of concern, a tradition continued through many generations of SGGP Newspaper staff.


“We place special emphasis on educational values, focusing on children and students, supporting and creating opportunities for children in disadvantaged areas to develop comprehensively in terms of knowledge, physical health, and spirit. This contributes to igniting their faith, helping them overcome difficulties to attend school, and empowering the younger generation to be confident, capable, knowledgeable, and useful members of society,” emphasized Ms. Bui Thi Hong Suong.
According to Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, Bui Thi Hong Suong, the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program, initiated by SGGP Newspaper in 2023, has so far raised over 32 billion VND and been implemented at 31 schools in 19 provinces and cities nationwide. Each destination is a journey of compassion, where SGGP Newspaper staff listen, understand, and accompany the small dreams that need to be nurtured.

Previously, on May 11, 2024, at My Cat Primary School, the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper presented a sponsorship package worth 270 million VND, in partnership with Khang Dien Investment and Business Corporation. The donated items included: 10 computers, 3 water purifiers, 40 sets of desks and chairs, 2 ceiling fans, 456 student backpacks, and 50 million VND for a scholarship fund.
Today, the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program continues to support the teachers and students of My Cat Primary School by completing and handing over two projects, the "Green Library" and the "School Toilet," along with gifts and scholarships for the students.

Specifically, the "Green Library" is an open learning space that helps students develop a reading habit and foster a lifelong learning spirit; the "School Toilets" contribute to protecting health, improving living conditions, and creating a safe, clean, and beautiful learning environment...
On this occasion, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper Bui Thi Hong Suong expressed her deep gratitude to the sponsoring units including Khang Dien House Investment and Business Joint Stock Company, Thien Hanh Investment Joint Stock Company and Phuc Long ICD Company Limited – businesses that always place community interests alongside business development.


In response to this gesture, Mr. Dinh Ho Tong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Luong commune, on behalf of the local government, expressed his gratitude to SGGP Newspaper and the sponsors of the program.
Mr. Dinh Ho Tong stated that the local authorities will pay attention to and direct My Cat Primary School to use the facility effectively, manage the scholarship fund for its intended purpose, and ensure transparency and openness, so that each gift and scholarship reaches the students who truly need support.
