Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans 3 methods and 11 admission combinations in 2026

In 2026, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 9,880 students, maintaining three stable methods, including talent selection, TSA thinking assessment test scores, and high school graduation exam scores.

On the evening of October 23, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially announced its expected enrollment plan for full-time undergraduate students in 2026. This is the first university in the North to announce its expected enrollment plan.

With the talent selection method, Hanoi University of Science and Technology considers three aspects: direct admission of excellent students according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ; admission based on international certificates SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB; admission based on capacity profile combined with interview.

Candidates based on their competency profile must have an average score of 8.0 or higher in all three years of high school and meet one of the following conditions:

- Selected to participate in the national excellent student exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or won first, second, third or consolation prizes in the excellent student exam at the provincial/municipal level organized by the Departments of Education and Training, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hue University, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University, Vinh University, Viet Bac High School for Ethnic Minorities and granted certificates of achievement in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, foreign languages, and combinations during high school.

- Selected to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

- Selected to participate in the Road to Olympia contest organized by Vietnam Television from the monthly round and above.

- Specialized students (including math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, foreign languages) of high schools and specialized high schools nationwide, specialized classes, specialized systems of universities, national universities, and regional universities.

Profile score = Thinking score (maximum 40) + achievement score (maximum 50) + bonus points (maximum 10).

Admission method based on thinking assessment (TSA) scores, candidates need to meet the required score threshold which will be announced by the school later.

With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores in 2026, the University of Technology will keep the same 11 admission combinations and main subjects as previous years, including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28, D29 and K01.
