On October 25, RMIT University Vietnam and social enterprise KOTO officially set a Guinness World Record for the largest number "25" arranged from 631 loaves of bread. The event aimed to raise funds through the Hope Fund to support disadvantaged youth.

The initiative comes from the 25th anniversary of both organizations' contributions to the Vietnamese education sector, while also honoring Vietnamese culture through the iconic banh mi.
From early morning, more than 400 volunteers participated in the bread preparation process. Everyone put the fillings into each loaf of bread, wrapped it individually for display. After the record was set, the bread was distributed to event attendees to enjoy on the spot.
Mr. Austin Johnson, Guinness World Records Judge, said that each Guinness record is evaluated according to clear criteria, including: Measurability, authenticity, standardization and uniqueness.
In the above case, the structure must be made entirely from bread, shaped to the exact number 25 and inspected by independent experts. In addition, the organizers must ensure that the entire processing complies with food safety and hygiene standards, from production to distribution.

The event not only set a record but also demonstrated the power of cooperation, education and humanity.

Ms. Jodie Altan, Deputy General Director of External Affairs - RMIT University Vietnam, said: "Banh mi brings the story of Vietnam to the world - a story of creativity, resilience and connection. What we are doing has a similar mission, bringing world-class education to Vietnam without leaving the people and culture of this land."
By the afternoon of October 25, the event had raised $21,000 (about VND 552 million). The fundraising program is still continuing until the end of November 2025.
All proceeds will go towards building KOTO’s Dream School – a pioneering education project that provides completely free hospitality and life skills training to disadvantaged youth.
