In recent days, public opinion has been particularly interested in the "Nuôi Em" (Feeding Children) project founded by Hoang Hoa Trung (born in 1990, in Hanoi ), following a series of complaints and questions from the philanthropic community regarding the collection and management of donations, the receiving account, and the source of funding for the project. In response to these concerns, the "Nuôi Em" project has issued a statement.

According to the project, the NEKTUM02767 code issued in August 2025 is for the 2024-2025 school year, as the previous donor had not yet sent the full amount. The period of application of the code, from September 2024 to May 2025, had been previously announced.

When the next funding inquiry cycle for the 2025-2026 school year arrived in November 2025, due to the sponsor's response that they would not continue, the project was forced to revoke the code in order to find a new sponsor. If the code had not been revoked, the system would have defaulted to continuing to receive funding.

The project affirms that, despite the code being revoked, the student in this case has still had their tuition paid in full thanks to the new sponsor, and the guardian retains all their rights, such as receiving information, photos, and the right to visit in person. "Nuoi Em" acknowledges shortcomings in communication that led to the sponsor's misunderstanding and offers an apology.

Regarding why the project is continuing to collect fees for the 2024-2025 school year in 2025, the project explains that during the past school year, many sponsors promised to send money but did not actually send it for various reasons. To avoid disrupting students' meals, the project had to find other sponsors to compensate for the cases where funding was insufficient. This information was included in the communication process before prospective sponsors decided to participate, but "Nuoi Em" (Sponsoring Children) also acknowledges that the way it was communicated could cause misunderstandings.

Regarding concerns that a single code might be linked to two students for two years without prior notice, the "Nuoi Em" (Sponsoring Children) project stated that it only supports students who do not receive state-funded meals. If there are no more requests to sponsor a student the following year, it means the student has already received government funding. This information is updated when donors check the details in October-November each year.

Regarding the suspicion of using personal accounts to receive money, the project cites Decree 93/2021/ND-CP, which grants individuals the right to solicit and receive charitable donations. "Nuoi Em" (Raising Children) affirms that the bank account used for the project has been specifically designated for charitable purposes since 2018, with 100% of its revenue and expenditure serving charitable purposes. Furthermore, they will invite a third party to conduct an independent audit of the entire financial process.

Following numerous complaints about being repeatedly reminded to transfer funds, the project acknowledges that there is currently no better solution to ensure timely fund disbursement. The new process involves a maximum of three reminders; if no response is received, the account will be closed to find new sponsors for the students.

Regarding the lack of a dedicated 4-digit account for charitable purposes, the project stated that it is considering a roadmap to transition to using 4-digit accounts starting in 2026.

Notably, regarding the funding for operating and maintaining the project, "Nuôi Em" (Raising Children) stated that there are currently two main sources. Firstly, interest generated from savings in bank accounts during the period before the funds are disbursed.

Secondly, there is funding from several individuals and organizations specifically for the project's operational activities. The project affirms that these two sources of funding are completely independent of the income and expenditure used for providing meals to students from benefactors, and states that this information has been publicly disclosed on the nuoiem.com website, in the finance section, as well as through previous press releases and videos .

Regarding concerns about duplicate sponsorships, the "Nuoi Em" (Sponsoring Children) project stated that prior to December 6th, they had not recorded any cases of two sponsors jointly sponsoring the same child. The project is currently reviewing each case individually. Data will be stored and cross-checked across three entities: the "Nuoi Em" project, the school, and the local government, allowing sponsors to verify the information.

Regarding the feedback in the group about the absence of student photos, the project explained that this could be due to incorrect timing, joining the wrong group, or teachers failing to update information or providing incorrect details. Sponsors can contact volunteers, the fan page, or teachers for assistance.

Regarding communication deemed "sales closing" or "debt collection," the project stated that it currently uses templated phrases to support chatbots and volunteers to handle repetitive tasks. "Nuoi Em" acknowledges instances of inappropriate communication leading to misunderstandings and says it is continuing to make adjustments.

Finally, regarding the requirement to fill out a "payment request form" when refunds or erroneous transfers occur, the project explains that this process aims to control transactions, prevent incorrect transfers, and complete accounting documentation. The requirement for sponsors to proactively find photos of their children, according to "Nuoi Em" (Sponsoring Children), is to increase transparency, allowing sponsors to interact directly with teachers at the school, instead of receiving one-way information from the project, and to optimize operational staff. Volunteers remain responsible for assisting sponsors when they encounter difficulties.

In 2014, Trung founded the "Feed Your Child Project," connecting philanthropists to support lunch for students in mountainous areas. Each donor is assigned a specific child ID to track the support process.

To participate, each "sponsor" contributes 1,450,000 VND per school year. Of this amount, 1,350,000 VND (150,000 VND/month x 9 school months) is used for food, and 100,000 VND is for facilities.

The beneficiaries are preschool children and students from grades 1 to 12 in remote, mountainous areas who do not receive government support for meals, or who receive support but at a low level. From just a few dozen children initially, by 2024, the project had provided meals for over 100,000 students in many provinces and cities nationwide.
