High school students attend job fair to explore careers

Most job fairs are usually only for students, but today's event at a university in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of nearly 40 businesses, also attracted high school students.

This morning, October 25, Saigon International University organized the SIU Career Fair 2025 with the theme "Future Career: Your Next Step".

What is special is that this job fair is not only for students but also attracts students from high schools in Ho Chi Minh City, with about 2,000 students.

Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, said: "SIU Career Fair 2025 is organized to create a space for connecting students and businesses in many fields such as finance - banking, technology, media, trade, logistics, education ... This year's event has an expanded scale with the participation of nearly 40 domestic and foreign businesses, arranged at direct recruitment booths on campus".

According to Master Tu, expanding the audience to high school students helps them quickly access recruitment trends, explore the labor market, listen to sharing from businesses and observe the simulated recruitment process. "This is an opportunity for students to have a multi-dimensional perspective when choosing a career and shaping a suitable learning path after high school," Master Tu shared.

Within the framework of the job fair, students and pupils can participate in many activities such as direct recruitment exchanges between students and businesses, career counseling and receiving application documents.

In addition, there are seminars on career skills, how to prepare a job application, application tips and human resource trends in the context of digital transformation such as: steps to prepare when applying for a job, future skills for a global career with the participation of experts and HR leaders.

On this occasion, Saigon International University signed a memorandum of understanding with businesses to coordinate training to meet actual recruitment needs, support students in internships and recruitment, organize vocational skills training programs and share expertise.

Hundreds of job positions with starting salaries from 10 million VND/month

At the job fair, many businesses are looking to recruit recent graduates with starting salaries from 10-12 million VND/month.

Mr. Huynh Hoang Viet, Head of Corporate Customer Department of Nam A Bank, Quang Trung Branch, said that the unit is recruiting 10 individual customer relationship specialists and 5 corporate customer relationship specialists, with an initial salary of 10-12 million VND/month. In addition, this branch is also recruiting the above 2 positions but for experienced people with a starting salary of 15-26 million VND/month.

"We do not require too much experience. New graduates will receive additional training. However, they need to have skills such as communication, teamwork, understanding technology, discipline and the ability to withstand pressure," Mr. Viet shared.

Meanwhile, Yue Dian Restaurant (HCMC) is looking to recruit hotel and restaurant graduates with cooking skills, with an initial salary of 12-15 million VND/month. "In addition to a serious and disciplined work ethic, being good at English and Chinese will be an advantage," said Mr. Andy, the restaurant's director.

Starlightx Co., Ltd., HD Bank, Familymart, Blue Galaxy Group... are also recruiting many full-time and part-time positions for graduated or ungraduated students, with salaries ranging from 10 million VND/month depending on the position.
