Why is the Hanoi University of Science and Technology logo on imported robots?

According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, after participating in the 80-year Education & Training Achievements Exhibition from August 28 to September 15 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), it received a number of comments about the bipedal robot that pasted paper stamps with the unit's logo.

Regarding this issue, Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that the bipedal robot with mechanical parts was legally imported from the Mechanical Engineering Research Joint Stock Company (RPMEC, a member of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology) for the purpose of development, training, research and transfer.

The bipedal robot displayed at the exhibition of 80 years of Education & Training Achievements of Hanoi University of Science and Technology caused a stir when the imported product was labeled with the unit's logo.

On that basis, the research group led by the University's lecturers has developed new control algorithms, giving the robot new features, with specific results such as: Improving stability when moving on complex terrain; Increasing the ability to adapt to changing heights; Developing algorithms to help robots climb curved stairs.

In training, the research team has built software and professional documents to help lecturers and students directly program, integrate AI and control motion.

The bipedal robot product was introduced at the 80 Years of Education & Training Achievements exhibition area. However, this area has the participation of many different agencies and training units. In the long-term exhibition conditions, the number of visitors is too large, many units mark the artifacts for management and preservation.

“The Hanoi University of Science and Technology’s exhibition department uses paper stamps with the school’s logo to stick on all exhibits, including the bipedal robot, for management and preservation. At that time, there was an error in sticking the paper stamp on the bipedal robot at the position of the product’s logo. Although there was a leaflet introducing the robot’s features in the exhibition area, the use of the University’s logo paper stamp to mark preservation has caused some visitors to misunderstand, which is regrettable,” Hanoi University of Science and Technology affirmed.

With the incident that has occurred, this unit said it will seriously absorb and draw profound lessons for similar events.

Regarding responsibility, the unit immediately reviewed and requested relevant individuals and departments to seriously explain the feedback.

Representatives of the research team and related departments have properly performed their accountability responsibilities and provided full information when requested. The leaders of Hanoi University of Science and Technology have severely criticized the related departments for the above mentioned negligence.
