
In her opening speech, comrade Truong My Hoa, former Vice President , Chairman of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Head of the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club emotionally shared: "Over the past 11 years, the Club has achieved many proud results. With 185 collective members and nearly 6,000 individual members, it has created an important internal strength, spreading a strong love for the homeland's sea and islands".
On August 1, 2014, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund under the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to establish the Club "For beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" with the goal of connecting hearts and minds towards the homeland's sea and islands; towards the place where soldiers are day and night protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Since its establishment, the Club has developed membership in 25 provinces and cities across the country (new administrative units) and in 12 countries in continents such as Australia, Europe, Asia, America, etc. During the 11th anniversary celebration held in Hanoi , the Club admitted two new groups and 55 new individuals, bringing the total number of collective members to 185 and 5,586 individual members.
The club also mobilized more than 36 billion VND to award more than 2,700 annual scholarships and maintain in-depth educational projects such as "Nurturing the Future", "Wings of Dreams", "Supporting Students"...; organized many meaningful rear activities such as building 15 comrade houses for policy beneficiaries of the Navy, supporting Tet gifts for the military and civilians of Truong Sa and DK1 Platform and forces performing law enforcement duties at sea.

Each scholarship and each gift given is a sharing, a companionship, and a spiritual encouragement for soldiers at the forefront and students who overcome difficulties to rise up. The club has truly become a bridge of love from the mainland to the remote islands, from the Vietnamese community everywhere towards the Fatherland.
To recognize and commend the spirit and heart of the collectives and member groups that have actively built, developed membership and participated well in club activities during the 11-year journey of "Connecting the sea and shore", Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund awarded Certificates of Merit to 50 collectives, 41 member groups and three individuals at home and abroad.

Entering its 12th year of operation, the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club continues to aim to improve the quality and efficiency of its operations with the spirit of turning towards the sea and islands through specific, practical and meaningful actions.
The Club's programs and activities are always organized in a diverse, rich and creative manner, contributing to the good work of the military rear, strengthening the people's hearts and minds; so that at the forefront of the storm, naval soldiers and fishermen can rest assured to stick to the sea, protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands and continental shelf of the Fatherland.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, assessed: "The Hoang Sa-Truong Sa Club is a common home for thousands of members at home and abroad, and is also a symbol of humanism, love for the Fatherland and national pride. Throughout the past journey, the Club has had many practical and meaningful activities, demonstrating the results in mobilization and organization work, which is also the strength of patriotism, sharing and responsibility for the country".

Looking forward to the new journey, comrade Bui Quang Huy suggested that the Club continue to promote the tradition of affection - practicality - spreading, innovate the content and methods of operation, promote digital transformation in propaganda, connect members with creative models, towards the goal of sustainable development. The Central Youth Union will continue to accompany the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Club in educating about sea and island sovereignty, arousing the desire to contribute, encouraging young people to act for the homeland's sea and islands with specific and humane actions.
At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) presented the Happy Vietnam Map Club - a symbol of solidarity, with hundreds of regions converging to form the shape of the country.
