With 700 athletes competing in 11 events and a total prize pool exceeding 1 billion VND, the tournament not only determined the first champions but also affirmed the position of Pickleball in modern sports .
In its very first year, the VTV AO Smith Pickleball Open demonstrated outstanding scale and quality, under the coordinated organization of the Sports Department (Vietnam Television) and TD Media, with professional guidance from the Vietnam Sports Department, and the support of Vietcontent.
The Happyland complex was consistently packed with spectators throughout the three days of competition, witnessing the contests between professional athletes, artists, businesspeople, and celebrities.
The presence of familiar faces such as Quang Duong, Bao Duong, young talent Truong Vinh Hien, Sophia Phuong Anh, Minh Quan, "Dat Tro", beauty queen Vu Thuy Quynh, MC Vo Thanh Trung, actor Chi Nhan, singers Ha Le, My Dung... created an atmosphere that was both sporty and friendly, helping to spread the spirit of Pickleball to a large number of fans.

Notably, the men's doubles final at the Open could not proceed as planned due to Quang Duong's unexpected injury. This allowed the pair Truong Vinh Hien and Minh Quan to claim the championship. In the mixed doubles Open, the pair Boi Ngoc and Van Phuong performed excellently, overcoming strong contenders like Dat "tro" and Sophia Phuong Anh to secure a convincing victory.
Besides the big names, the tournament also serves as a launching pad for a generation of promising young athletes. Particularly noteworthy is the youngest pair in the tournament, Phuong Trang Anh (16 years old) and Pham Ngoc Ha Vy (13 years old) from Jogarbola Vietnam, who left a strong impression with their intelligent and confident playing style.
More than just a sporting event, the VTV AO SMITH Pickleball Open 2025 also aims to foster community cohesion and spread humanitarian values through diverse side activities: a Pickleball experience zone, interactive games, and gift booths from sponsors...
Notably, the "Glow Pickleball Charity Night" event on the evening of October 25th was marked by a charity auction to raise funds for the "Heart for Children" campaign of the Vietnamese Heart Foundation - Vietnam Television. The racket used by Quang Duong at the PPA Tour was successfully auctioned for 56 million VND by Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 2nd Runner-up Vu Thuy Quynh.
With the combined efforts of businesses and individuals, the total amount of donations raised at the event reached 188.5 million VND - all of which will be transferred to the Fund to support underprivileged children with congenital heart disease.

The application of IRS (Instant Replay System) technology in the tournament's operations has enhanced its transparency and professionalism. Each match is meticulously coordinated under the supervision of a team of experienced referees, creating a fair and high-quality playing field for all athletes.
The tournament has concluded, but it has opened a new chapter for Pickleball in Vietnam – not only as a modern sport suitable for many age groups, but also as a catalyst for positive social activities.
Looking to the future, the VTV AO Smith Pickleball Open promises to become a large-scale annual event, continuing to support the mass sports movement and nurture a new generation of young pickleball athletes in Vietnam.
