With the participation of 700 athletes competing in 11 events, with a total prize value of more than 1 billion VND, the tournament not only determined the first champions but also affirmed the position of Pickleball in modern sports life.
In its first year of organization, VTV AO SMITH Pickleball Open has shown outstanding scale and quality, under the coordination of the Sports Department (Vietnam Television) and TD Media, professional direction by the Vietnam Sports Department, and the companionship of Vietcontent.
Happyland Stadium was continuously packed with spectators throughout the 3 days of competition, witnessing the competitions of professional athletes, artists, businessmen, and celebrities.
The presence of familiar faces such as Quang Duong, Bao Duong, young talent Truong Vinh Hien, Sophia Phuong Anh, Minh Quan, "Dat Tro", beauty queen Vu Thuy Quynh, MC Vo Thanh Trung, actor Chi Nhan, singers Ha Le, My Dung... brought a sporty yet friendly atmosphere, contributing to spreading the Pickleball spirit to a large number of fans.
Notably, the Open men's doubles final could not take place as expected due to Quang Duong's unexpected injury. That brought the pair Truong Vinh Hien-Minh Quan to the championship. In the Open mixed doubles, the pair Boi Ngoc-Van Phuong played excellently, surpassing strong candidates such as Dat "tro"-Sophia Phuong Anh to win convincingly.
Besides the big names, the tournament is also a launching pad for a generation of young athletes with great potential. Notably, the youngest pair of the tournament, Phuong Trang Anh (16 years old) - Pham Ngoc Ha Vy (13 years old) from Jogarbola Vietnam, left a strong impression with their intelligent and confident playing style.
Not only a sports tournament, VTV AO SMITH Pickleball Open 2025 also has the meaning of connecting the community, spreading humanistic values through diverse sideline activities: Pickleball experience area, interactive games, gift booths from sponsors...
In particular, the event night “Glow Pickleball Charity Night” took place on the evening of October 25th, marked by the charity auction event “Heart for Children” of Tam Long Viet Fund - Vietnam Television. The racket used by Quang Duong at the PPA Tour was successfully auctioned for 56 million VND by the 2nd runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 Vu Thuy Quynh.
With the support of businesses and individuals, the total amount of money raised at the event night was up to 188.5 million VND - all transferred to the Fund to support children with congenital heart disease in difficult circumstances.
The application of IRS (Instant Replay System) technology in the management has raised the transparency and professionalism of the tournament. Each match is closely coordinated under the supervision of an experienced referee team, creating a fair and quality playground for all athletes.
The tournament ended but opened a new chapter for Pickleball in Vietnam - not only as a modern sport, suitable for many ages, but also as a catalyst for positive social activities.
Looking to the future, VTV AO SMITH Pickleball Open promises to become a large-scale annual event, continuing to accompany the mass sports movement and nurturing a generation of young athletes for Pickleball Vietnam.
