Nguyen Thi Oanh officially enters the competition.

The focus of December 13th was on the Suphachalasai track, where Nguyen Thi Oanh competed in the women's 5,000m – the first of three events she registered for at the 33rd SEA Games.

Vietnam's "golden girl" of athletics currently boasts 12 SEA Games gold medals , having won 4 gold medals at the most recent Games, and is on the verge of surpassing the 13 gold medals of her senior teammate Nguyen Thi Huyen to get closer to the title of "Queen of Athletics" in Vietnam.

In addition, athletics also has a series of notable finals and qualifying rounds such as the women's triple jump , men's and women's 200m , men's 800m , 4x400m medley relay , and men's 5,000m , where Vietnamese athletes are expected to continue winning medals.

Swimming: A flurry of finals in the evening.

At the swimming pool, Vietnamese swimmers embarked on a packed day of competition. The morning featured qualifying rounds for several events, including the men's 100m butterfly , men's 200m freestyle , women's 100m breaststroke , and women's 400m individual medley . In the evening, a series of finals took place starting at 6 PM, including the men's and women's 100m butterfly , women's 100m backstroke , men's 200m freestyle , women's 100m breaststroke , and women's 400m individual medley .

Building on the momentum from the previous days, swimming continues to be considered one of the "gold mines" for the Vietnamese delegation, especially as many athletes have shown consistent performance since the qualifying rounds.

Martial arts continue to be a cornerstone.

Martial arts still dominate the program on December 13th. Karate competitions are held from the qualifying rounds to the medal matches in various men's and women's kumite weight categories. Taekwondo enters the team and individual events, while ju-jitsu, judo, kickboxing, and pencak silat also have important rounds, opening up the possibility of adding more gold and silver medals for the Vietnamese delegation.

Shooting, pétanque, and team events.

Shooting continues with competition in the women's 10m air rifle individual event, with qualifying and final rounds held on the same day. Petanque enters the team events, a strength that has brought many gold medals to Vietnam since the beginning of the Games.

In team sports, the Vietnamese team competed in men's and women's 5x5 basketball , table tennis , badminton , sepak takraw , indoor volleyball , beach volleyball , and esports . Although it wasn't yet medal-deciding day in all events, these were pivotal matches for the next stage of the competition.

After two explosive days of competition on December 11th and 12th, the Vietnamese sports delegation is expected to win more gold medals in many of its strong disciplines on December 13th . The participation of Nguyen Thi Oanh, along with the finals in swimming, athletics, and martial arts, promises to make December 13th another crucial day in the "gold hunt" at the 33rd SEA Games.
