Opening the day with a "rain" of gold medals for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games were the shooting duo Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang (10m air rifle mixed event).
Following that, Nguyen Thi Huong and Ma Thi Thuy (women's 200m double canoeing); Bac Thi Khiem (taekwondo, women's under 73kg); Khuat Hai Nam (karate, men's 67kg); Dinh Phuong Thanh (gymnastics, parallel bars); Ngo Ron and Ly Ngoc Tai (petanque); Nguyen Thi Thi and Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu (petanque); Nguyen Thi Ngoc (athletics, women's 400m); Nguyen Quang Thuan (swimming, men's 400m individual medley); Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming, men's 1,500m freestyle) brought home more gold medals, concluding a successful day of competition.
Host nation Thailand is leading with 62 gold medals, followed by Indonesia in third place with 18.
