Ho Dac Thanh Chuong, who was a contestant and became the champion of the 16th season of "Road to Olympia," now works at Google Sydney (Australia).

After winning the Olympia competition, Ho Dac Thanh Chuong studied and graduated from Swinburne University, Australia in 2022. From 2023 to the present, he has been working at Google Sydney (Australia).

During the program, Ho Dac Thanh Chuong shared: “National and international student competitions in high school usually focus on depth, meaning studying a particular subject and 'digging deep' into it. The Road to Olympia competition, however, is a very different arena, requiring breadth. When working in a large company, at lower levels, depth is needed, but as you move up, breadth becomes essential. This breadth refers to broad knowledge and understanding, and also embodies the spirit of the Road to Olympia competition.”

I work at Google, in a team where success requires a lot of support, and each individual needs to know how to collaborate to optimize their resources and experience. Competition, if any, is about whether I'm better today than yesterday and how to be better tomorrow than I am today.”

Phan Manh Tan, the champion of the second season of the "Road to Olympia" competition, is currently the Chief Solutions Architect for Digital Experience in the Asia- Pacific region at HCL Software.

Winning the championship title in the second season of the "Road to Olympia" competition also opened up opportunities for Phan Manh Tan (a former student of Ha Tinh Gifted High School, Ha Tinh province) to study abroad.

After graduating with a degree in Computer Science and completing his doctoral research in Information Technology, Phan Manh Tan was immediately hired by IBM, a multinational computer technology corporation headquartered in the United States. Currently, Tan is the Chief Solutions Architect for Digital Experience in the Asia-Pacific region at HCL Software.

“Olympia has completely changed my life, giving me the opportunity to go abroad and study my favorite subject, and to expand my network. It’s truly a huge opportunity for a guy from a small town like me,” Tan shared.

Mr. Tan said that, in addition to knowledge, the skills he gained from the Olympia competition are still very relevant and useful to his current life and work. Especially his decision-making ability at work. “Sometimes, with projects, I only have a few minutes to make decisions that affect millions of users. Often, I don't have enough information to make a decision, so I have to rely heavily on analysis and intuition. I honed those skills while participating in Olympia,” Mr. Tan shared.

The former Olympia champion further shared: "Nowadays, everything changes very quickly; what you learned yesterday may no longer be important tomorrow. With the rapid development of technology, the most important ability today is the ability to learn new things and adapt to new trends."
