The city's western strategic belt axis

The contractor focuses on constructing the Hai Duong City Ring Road 1 Construction Investment Project, from Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue to Dai An Industrial Park Expansion.

Urgent construction

In late October, at the construction site of the Hai Duong City Ring Road 1 Investment and Construction Project (old), the section from Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue to the Dai An Industrial Park expansion, the working atmosphere was very urgent. Mr. Dang Ngoc Uyen, Site Commander, said that the project started at the end of August 2025, but due to heavy rain, the initial progress was affected.

Taking advantage of the sunny days, the unit mobilized maximum human resources and machinery, dividing into two construction teams, one main road team and one branch road team to compensate for the volume and ensure progress according to plan.

According to the West Hai Phong Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project's starting point intersects with Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue at km1+673 in Thach Khoi ward; its end point is adjacent to the construction area of the Kim Son River overpass (implemented by Dai An Joint Stock Company) in Yet Kieu commune.

The total length of Hai Duong city's beltway 1, from Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue to Dai An Industrial Park, is about 3.65 km. Of which, about 0.55 km is in Yet Kieu commune; 3.1 km is in Thach Khoi ward.

After 2 months of construction, contractors have completed about 600 m of roadbed and drainage system.

Regarding site clearance, although the compensation plan has been approved and payments have been made to households with agricultural land, there are still 3 households that have not received the money. Some households have not agreed to the compensation price and resettlement location. In addition, there are still 5 graves on the route that have not yet been exhumed; 3 graves for burial have not yet agreed to the support price.

Besides, sand scarcity and fluctuations in construction material prices also affect project progress.

Currently, the investor and contractor are coordinating with local authorities to resolve difficulties in site clearance. At the same time, the construction is being flexibly organized, making the most of favorable weather to speed up progress, striving to complete in August 2026.

Vo Van Kiet Avenue belongs to Ring Road 1 with a synchronous lighting system and trees on both sides of the road.

Synchronized connection, expanding urban development space

According to the project, the old Hai Duong city beltway 1 has a total length of more than 30 km, starting from the intersection with Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue, then passing through the following points: intersection with National Highway 37 (in Thach Khoi ward), Provincial Road 391 (Tan Hung ward), Provincial Road 390C (Nam Dong ward) and Provincial Road 390 (Ai Quoc ward).

Next, the route coincides with the direction of provincial road 390 to Ben Han intersection (Thanh Dong ward), then intersects with provincial road 390D (also in Thanh Dong ward).

From here, the route crosses the Thai Binh River, connecting Thai Tan Commune with Tue Tinh Commune. The next section overlaps a part of Road 194B, intersects Highway 5 in Tu Minh Ward, then crosses the main axis of Dai An Industrial Park. The route continues towards Vu Cong Dan Street, turns left across the Sat River and closes at the intersection with Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue.

According to the plan, by 2030, the road will be built with a minimum scale meeting the standards of a level 2 plain road, with a roadbed width of 42 m.

After completion, the Ring Road 1 project will form a belt surrounding Hai Duong city (old), reducing pressure on urban center routes, connecting with key traffic routes such as National Highway 5, National Highway 37 and many provincial roads...

Currently, the old Hai Duong city beltway 1 has Vo Van Kiet avenue, more than 5.67 km long and more than 3 km overlapping with provincial road 390 and 3.5 km passing through Dai An Industrial Park being exploited and used.

The section from Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue to Dai An Industrial Park Expansion along with the Thai Binh River Overpass Construction Project and the access road on this route, the section from Provincial Road 391 to Road 390 C started construction in August 2025.

Along with that, Dai An bridge connecting Gia Loc district and Cam Giang (old) with a bridge length and approach road of about 265 m, 25 m wide sponsored by Dai An Joint Stock Company is also under construction. The starting point connects the road from Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue to Dai An Industrial Park expansion; the end point connects to Dai An Industrial Park expansion (phase 2).

The remaining sections will be invested and constructed in the period 2026 - 2030.

With many advantages in location and traffic, Ring Road 1 will create great potential in exploitation, forming green urban areas, service centers, ecological parks, and future high-rise highlights in the West of the Port City.

After the merger, Hai Duong City's (old) Ring Road 1 will be upgraded and its connection will be expanded when the city will invest in an East-West connection route about 23.5 km long, connecting from Ring Road 1 at the intersection of National Highway 10 with Nguyen Truong To Street.
