Ca Mau Department of Industry and Trade launched a fundraising campaign to support the Cuban people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. To Minh Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Department Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said:

" The program is organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross in coordination with other units with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship" , taking place in 65 days (August 13 - October 16, 2025) to mobilize resources to support the Cuban people to overcome difficulties and foster the special friendship between the two peoples.

Throughout history, the Cuban people have given Vietnam invaluable support. During the fierce years of resistance against the US, Cuba was the first country to recognize the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, affirming its stance of strongly supporting the just struggle of the Vietnamese people. In particular, President Fidel Castro's famous saying "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its blood" demonstrated the solidarity of the two countries. Cuba also sent experts to help Vietnam build many important medical, educational and transportation projects, including Dong Hoi Hospital ( Quang Binh ), Xuan Mai - Mieu Mon Road (Hanoi) and many other projects.

The program will mobilize resources to assist the Cuban people with medical supplies, necessities and sustainable development cooperation areas, contributing to helping the Cuban people overcome difficulties caused by the impact of the pandemic, natural disasters and blockade and embargo policies.

Mr. To Minh Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Department's Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Department, called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Department to participate in donating. Every contribution, no matter how small, shows the deep affection and love of the Vietnamese people for Cuba.

The call received a strong response. The Board of Directors, leaders of units and all civil servants, public employees and workers of the Department of Industry and Trade actively contributed, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and sharing.
