Towards the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 1995 - November 23, 2025), a scientific seminar at Dong Thanh Communal House was held to discuss and conduct in-depth research on the culture of worshiping Huyen Thien Chan Vu - a long-standing belief rich in meaning in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people - and at the same time introduce the historical and cultural values of Dong Thanh Communal House to the public.

Dong Thanh Communal House - Chan Thien Temple is an important link in the relic system of Hoan Kiem ward in particular and Thang Long - Hanoi in general. In the photo: Scene of the discussion.
Dong Thanh Communal House - Chan Thien Temple, also known as Hang Vai Communal House, is the place to worship Duc Huyen Thien Chan Vu, the god who guards the North in the Four Towns of Thang Long. It was built more than 200 years ago and is a historical and architectural relic at the City level, a typical relic in Hanoi's Old Quarter.
The custom of worshiping Huyen Thien Chan Vu is a vivid expression of the introduction of Taoism in Vietnam in particular and the spirit of the Three Religions of the Same Origin, the interweaving of Confucianism - Buddhism - Taoism in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people in general, preserved by the people of the old quarter for many generations.

The opinions and recommendations exchanged and discussed at the seminar will be the basis for developing a plan to preserve and promote the value of Dong Thanh communal house relic.
The seminar is an opportunity for managers, scientists, researchers, heritage managers, community representatives and the young generation to exchange and discuss based on the cultural relics, artifacts, architectural and artistic elements of the communal house, thereby affirming the authenticity and value of Huyen Thien Chan Vu beliefs in Hanoi's cultural life, in order to preserve and promote the values of Dong Thanh communal house relics in a scientific and sustainable manner.
Correctly assessing the values, potentials and advantages of Dong Thanh communal house helps to propose solutions in the overall relationship of relics in Hoan Kiem ward, from which to have plans for the conservation and promotion of the values of the relics.
From there, the results of the discussion are the basis for concretizing the policy of linking cultural heritage preservation with education and tourism development. With the desire - each relic is not only a place to preserve memories, but also a space for living, learning, creating and connecting the community, heritage only has true meaning when it is loved by the people, sought out by tourists and proudly preserved by the young generation.
