This morning, October 27, according to Thanh Nien reporters, floods are rising rapidly on rivers, causing many low-lying areas in Da Nang City to be deeply flooded, and traffic is cut off. In Hoi An ancient town (Hoi An ward), since last night, October 26, floods from upstream have poured in, causing the water level of the Hoai River to rise and overflow onto two roads running along the riverbank, Bach Dang and Nguyen Phuc Chu.
From dawn to noon today, October 27, the water level rose rapidly and continued to deeply inundate streets in the old quarter such as Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hoang Van Thu, Le Loi, Chau Thuong Van. After overflowing onto Bach Dang Street, the floodwaters are now at the level of the Chua Cau relic site.

An Hoi Bridge, which connects the two banks of the Hoai River and lies right in the heart of the ancient town, has been submerged by floodwaters. Authorities are on duty to clear the debris and clear the flow.
The flood rose quickly and caused 30cm to 1m of water to inundate the streets, so since this morning people in the old town have had to use boats to get around. Many people on the other side of An Hoi bridge rowed their boats out to buy necessities.
Souvenir shop owners on Tran Phu Street (an area not yet flooded) have rented scaffolding to raise their goods to avoid the risk of rising water causing damage to property.
An area near Hoi An ancient town , Thanh Ha fish market, is also submerged in water. Traders at the fish market have temporarily stopped trading.
Mr. Truong Xuan Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang City, said that the department has had a quick report on the response to heavy rain in the city.
According to the forecast, from early this morning, October 27 to the morning of October 29, in the communes and wards of Da Nang City, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The total rainfall in the wards and communes in the plains is generally 150 - 300 mm, in some places over 400 mm; in the communes and wards in the southwest mountainous area, it is generally 200 - 350 mm, in some places over 500 mm; in the communes and wards in the northwest mountainous area, it is 100 - 250 mm, in some places over 300 mm.
According to forecasts, heavy rain will continue in the coming days, many places in Da Nang city, including Hoi An ancient town will continue to be deeply flooded.

Currently, the water level on rivers in Da Nang City is rising rapidly. The water level at 1:00 a.m. on October 27 on Vu Gia River at Hoi Khach was above alarm level 2; Ai Nghia was below level 3; Thu Bon River at Nong Son was above level 3; Giao Thuy was above level 2 and Hoi An was above level 2...
It is forecasted that in the next 6-12 hours, the flood on Vu Gia - Thu Bon River will rise to level 3, Han River will be above level 2, and Tam Ky River will be near level 1. In the next 12-24 hours, the flood on Vu Gia - Thu Bon River will continue to rise, peaking at level 3; Han River will be above level 2, then fluctuate at a high level.
Risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, flooding in urban areas, flash floods, landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of Da Nang city.
