From the night of October 25th to October 27th, mountainous communes in the southern part of Da Nang city experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, with an average of 300mm and localized rainfall of 500mm. This caused landslides at 30 locations, flooding in 13 areas, and isolated 665 households with 2,727 people in hamlets 3, 4, and 5 of Tra Leng commune. Local authorities organized the evacuation and relocation of 377 households (1,559 people) to safe areas.
By 11:00 AM on October 27th, floodwaters had receded in 12 areas, with only the DH-4 road (Hiep Duc commune) remaining flooded; 13 landslides had been cleared, while 17 remained impassable. Throughout the day, the Command Center held a meeting to hear reports on the situation, survey critical areas, deploy efforts to open roads to isolated residential areas, and direct the establishment of a communication system to ensure smooth command and control.
The establishment of a Forward Command Post in Tra My demonstrates the proactive and timely spirit of the armed forces of Military Region 5 in responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods and heavy rains, contributing to ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
