The Command Committee, consisting of 29 members, headed by Colonel Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, is responsible for commanding and directing agencies and units of the Military Region's armed forces in coordination with the Ministry's forces, Party committees and local authorities to support response to floods and landslides. The unit mobilized 19 vehicles, including 9 command cars, 3 Kamaz vehicles, 1 VCD-2 information vehicle, 2 tractors, 1 excavator, 1 bulldozer, 1 van and 1 kitchen vehicle. The total number of supporting forces was 2,453, including 142 soldiers, 742 militia, 315 commune police and 1,254 people from the commune-level disaster prevention and control shock force.

From the night of October 25 to October 27, mountainous communes in the south of Da Nang city had moderate to very heavy rain, with an average rainfall of 300mm and some areas of 500mm, causing landslides at 30 locations, flooding 13 areas, isolating 665 households with 2,727 people in villages 3, 4, and 5 of Tra Leng commune. The locality has organized the evacuation and relocation of 377 households (1,559 people) to a safe place.

By 11:00 a.m. on October 27, 12 flooded areas had receded, only DH-4 road (Hiep Duc commune) was still flooded; 13 landslides had been repaired, while 17 were still unpaved. During the day, the Command Committee held a meeting, listened to situation reports, surveyed vulnerable areas, deployed road openings to isolated residential areas, and directed the establishment of an information system to ensure smooth command and control.

The establishment of the Forward Command Post in Tra My demonstrates the proactive and timely spirit of the armed forces of Military Region 5 in responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods, contributing to ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
