Lam Dong province held a meeting to discuss the progress of two tourism projects: the Dan Kia - Suoi Vang tourist area and Sa Pung mountain.

On December 12th, the Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Dinh Van Tuan, chaired a meeting with relevant departments and agencies regarding the implementation of the Dan Kia - Suoi Vang National Tourist Area Project and the Sa Pung Mountain Tourist Area Project.

At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance Le Binh Minh reported on the implementation status of two projects: the Dankia - Suoi Vang National Tourist Area and the Sa Pung Mountain Tourist Area.

Specifically, the Dan Kia - Suoi Vang National Tourist Area, covering nearly 4,000 hectares in Lang Biang ward, Da Lat, has not yet received investment approval. While the planning process is complete and procedures for attracting investors are underway, the investor selection process and other procedures for construction have not been completed. The prolonged planning process is negatively impacting the overall project progress.

With the Sa Pung Mountain Tourist Area covering approximately 432 hectares located in Ward 3, Bao Loc City and Bao Lam 3 Commune, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the policy for Hung Thinh Group Joint Stock Company to sponsor the planning, and assigned the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board (now Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1) as the investor to develop the planning for the Sa Pung Mountain area.

Currently, the General Planning Project for Bao Loc City and its surrounding areas has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee, serving as the basis for organizing the appraisal and submission for approval of the tasks and budget for the preparation of the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan for the Sapung Mountain Tourist Area.

In order to resolve the aforementioned difficulties and obstacles, and to expedite the completion of investment procedures for project implementation, the Department of Finance recommends that the Provincial People's Committee assign the Department of Agriculture and Environment to accelerate the progress of forest resource inventory at the project site, expedite the development of a sustainable forest management plan, and promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee any difficulties and obstacles that need to be addressed.

The Department of Construction will use the results of the forest resource inventory to inspect, review, and propose solutions to address obstacles in order to implement the zoning plan for the Dan Kia - Suoi Vang National Tourist Area…

Furthermore, regarding the project still facing obstacles related to mineral planning and the fact that Hung Thinh Group Joint Stock Company has not yet completed the transfer of funding for planning preparation, the Department of Finance recommends that the Provincial People's Committee assign the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to determine a solution to the mineral planning obstacles, creating a basis for implementing the plan and attracting investment for the Sa Pung Mountain Tourist Area.

Representatives from the consulting firm, TH Group, presented their opinions at the meeting.

During the meeting, TH Group, representing the consulting unit for the Dankia - Suoi Vang project, also presented their opinions on the total investment capital and proposed dividing the investment into two phases, with the hope of making the project a highlight not only for the province but also on an international scale.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan requested that departments, agencies, and localities review and compare the remaining difficulties to accelerate the implementation progress of the two projects, first and foremost the overall planning to ensure the synchronization of the province's Planning No. 704 and the zoning plan of the Dan Kia - Suoi Vang National Tourist Area project.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigned specific tasks to the Departments of Finance, Construction, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment, etc., to coordinate with the consulting unit to promptly resolve outstanding issues in order to urgently implement the project in accordance with the law and to submit the investment policy for both projects as soon as possible.

The Provincial People's Committee will hold a follow-up meeting in mid-January 2026 to hear a progress report on the tasks assigned at today's meeting.
