Tay Ninh Tourism 2025 - Expanding Development Space

The year 2025 opens a new and promising journey for Tay Ninh tourism, a region experiencing rapid growth as its development space expands, its tourism resources are upgraded, and its interconnected ecosystem is more clearly defined than ever before. Operating under a two-tiered local government model, Tay Ninh demonstrates remarkable resilience in its tourism sector. From Mount Ba Den to its unique cultural, ecological, and border-related values, Tay Ninh is gradually establishing itself as a dynamic, modern destination that retains its distinctive character, poised to become a new tourism growth hub in the South.

Strong growth driven by post-merger advantages.

After the merger, the new Tay Ninh province boasts a natural area of over 8,536 km², a population of over 3.25 million people, and a convenient transportation system, border gates, and seaports for international trade. Its nearly 369 km long border with Cambodia, along with four international border gates, makes the province a gateway connecting cross-border tourism routes and serves as a "buffer zone" between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta. This is a position that few localities possess, especially in the context of provinces strengthening regional linkages and expanding international economic corridors.

Furthermore, the combination of resources from the two merged localities has created a rare and diverse tourism region: ranging from ecological, spiritual, historical, agricultural to cultural and festival tourism. Famous destinations such as Mount Ba Den - one of the major spiritual tourism destinations in the South, the Cao Dai Holy See - a unique religious structure, Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park - an ASEAN Heritage Park, Lang Sen Wetland Reserve, Tan Lap Floating Village, or the Vam Co and Vam Nhut Tao river systems... form a rich chain of tourism products, catering to various customer segments.

In particular, Tay Ninh currently has 223 classified historical sites, 16 national intangible cultural heritage sites, and 1 intangible cultural heritage site representing humanity: Southern Vietnamese folk music (Don Ca Tai Tu). This is an important foundation for the province to develop distinctive cultural and festival tourism products, creating a difference from neighboring localities. Thanks to these advantages, Tay Ninh's tourism has recorded impressive growth.

“It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the number of tourists will reach approximately 8.8 million, an increase of 16% compared to the same period and exceeding the annual plan. Of these, international tourists will reach 160,000, showing the increasing attractiveness of cross-border tours and eco-cultural destinations. Total tourism revenue will reach 6,500 billion VND, an increase of 51% compared to the same period, exceeding the annual plan by 32%,” said Nguyen Thanh Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

These figures demonstrate the strong growth of the tourism industry and affirm that Tay Ninh's new development direction truly meets the tourism needs of visitors. Ms. Do Thi Loan, a tourist from Hanoi visiting Tay Ninh for the first time, said she was truly surprised by the scenery and the cool atmosphere on the summit of Ba Den Mountain. “The peaceful scenery, the friendly people – all create a wonderful experience. I think these things are truly impressive to anyone who comes to Tay Ninh,” Ms. Loan shared.

This year, tourism promotion, advertising, and information activities have also seen new developments. The province's tourism sector participated in the National Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day with the theme: "80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness"; the "Tourism Exhibition Booth within the framework of the Southern Traditional Cake Festival - An Giang combined with the 2nd Tourism, Trade and OCOP Product Promotion Fair 2025"; the Autumn Fair 2025 in Hanoi; the Golf Course Owners Conference - Developing Golf Tourism in Vietnam; and the TPO capacity building program in Busan (South Korea).

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with media units, introduces cultural sites, historical relics, and traditional craft villages in the province; and supports businesses in connecting tourist areas and destinations to develop tours and routes within the province.

Future vision

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tay Ninh province is defining its tourism development strategy in the coming period as sustainable, diversifying products and improving service quality, with regional linkages and innovation as key focuses. Based on its abundant resources, the province is concentrating on perfecting its cultural and festival tourism ecosystem, with Mount Ba Den being envisioned as a national tourist area of international stature.

Unique festivals such as the Linh Son Holy Mother Festival, the Ba Den Mountain Spring Festival, the Dieu Tri Palace Feast, the Sun-dried Rice Paper Festival, the Vegetarian Food Festival, the Tra Vong Quan Lon Festival, the Ngu Hanh Goddess Festival, and the Ky Yen Grand Ceremony at Tan Phuoc Tay Temple… will be upgraded in scale and quality to develop into attractive annual tourism products.

In 2025, the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center collaborated with Huong Sen Viet Tourism Company to organize the first intra-provincial tour with a stop at My Quynh Safari.

Ecotourism continues to be identified as a key pillar, with experiential routes in Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park, special-use forests, Dau Tieng Lake, and the two major rivers, Saigon - Vam Co. The province aims to develop camping, trekking, off-road vehicle tourism, waterway tourism, and water sports activities to attract young people and adventure-seeking tourists.

In addition, the Dong Thap Muoi ecosystem will be developed in conjunction with agricultural products, medicinal herbs, and traditional crafts, creating a richer experience of nature, agriculture, and orchards.

In the field of historical tourism, Tay Ninh focuses on restoring revolutionary relics such as the Central Committee Base of the Southern Region, Duong Minh Chau Base, Tua Hai Historical Site, Southern Regional Party Committee Base, Vam Nhut Tao Historical Site, Duc Hoa Crossroads Historical Site, and the Nguyen Huu Tho Lawyer Memorial House;… This not only contributes to preserving historical values but also expands the market to include students, youth groups, and historical research tours.

Agricultural and culinary tourism is being developed as a strategic product thanks to the advantage of abundant local specialties: Tay Ninh chili salt, young beef, Ba Den custard apple, vegetarian dishes, Trang Bang sun-dried rice paper, and OCOP products from more than 30 traditional craft villages.

The province encourages the development of farmstays, homestays, and high-tech agricultural models linked to tourist experiences. As a region with distinctive cuisine reflecting the fusion of Khmer, Cham, and Vietnamese cultures, Tay Ninh aims to create a local culinary map to leave a unique impression on visitors.

Tourism, entertainment, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) continues to expand at complexes such as Happy Land, Chavi Garden, My Quynh Zoo, and Nhim Island - Dau Tieng Lake. These locations have the potential to become centers for organizing events, sports, conferences, and weekend entertainment, supplementing the province's currently lacking product offerings. In addition, two international golf courses contribute to attracting high-end tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and other countries in the region.

Members of the Provincial Tourism Association experience and explore Chavi Garden.

Along with product development, the province's tourism industry also identifies human resources, promotional and marketing solutions in collaboration, and the application of digital technology in communication as key factors in connecting with tourists from near and far. Tay Ninh continues to strengthen links with Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, the Mekong Delta provinces, and Cambodia to build "one journey - multiple destinations" routes and expand international tours by road.

The province's tourism brand identity will be heavily promoted on digital platforms, and numerous press, film, and television crews will be invited to the area to produce news reports and documentaries, thereby increasing the presence of Tay Ninh's tourism brand in domestic and international markets.

In terms of infrastructure, the province focuses on attracting businesses to invest in high-quality accommodation systems, prioritizing hotels and resorts of 3 stars and above, large-scale commercial and entertainment centers, and riverside and lakeside resort complexes. Administrative procedures will be reformed to create the most favorable environment for investors, especially in the tourism and tourism real estate sectors.

With a strategic vision and synchronized solutions, Tay Ninh tourism is poised for a strong breakthrough, becoming a dynamic border tourism and economic center, as well as a unique cultural, ecological, and spiritual destination in the South. Stable growth in 2025 will be a crucial foundation for Tay Ninh to continue expanding its development, enhancing its position, and establishing its brand on the national tourism map in the coming years.
