Lam Dong invests in boarding schools in border areas to spread knowledge, protect land, and build the future.

On the afternoon of October 27, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee announced that it would start construction on two inter-level ethnic boarding schools in Quang Truc and Thuan An communes (formerly Dak Nong) on ​​November 2 with a total investment of more than VND440 billion.

On October 27, 2025, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee sent a document reporting to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the progress and asking for opinions on organizing the groundbreaking ceremony for two inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools in Thuan An commune and Quang Truc commune (two border communes of the old Dak Nong ).

Accordingly, these two schools are part of the "Campaign to build schools for border communes" implemented according to the Politburo 's policy in Notice 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 and Resolution 298/NQ-CP dated September 26, 2025 of the Government. Each school has 30 classes, about 1,050 students, with a total investment of VND 225.94 billion (Thuan An commune) and VND 215.94 billion (Quang Truc commune), respectively. Construction is expected to start on November 2, 2025 and be completed before August 30, 2026.

The two projects were implemented under a special public investment mechanism, following a shortened "design-build" process. The investor is the Construction Investment Management Board No. 3 of Lam Dong province. In particular, Thuan An boarding school was chosen as the project with Party and State leaders attending the groundbreaking ceremony.

The whole country for beloved border students

On the afternoon of October 27, Director of Lam Dong Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Lien said that previously (October 20), the Provincial People's Committee issued a Plan to implement the "Campaign to build schools for border communes" and the movement "The whole country for beloved border students", implementing the policy of the Government and the Politburo on developing the education system in border areas.

According to the plan, in the 2025 - 2027 period, Lam Dong will invest in building 5 primary and secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities in the border communes of Quang Truc, Tuy Duc, Thuan Hanh, Thuan An and Dak Wil.

These are particularly difficult areas, bordering Cambodia, with a large population of ethnic minorities and are the intersection of important economic and defense areas of Lam Dong province.

In the immediate future, in 2025, Lam Dong will focus on establishing 5 schools, completing site clearance and approving investment policies for the first 2 boarding schools in Quang Truc and Thuan An communes.

The capital for implementation is mobilized from the central budget, local budget and socialized sources. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to be the lead agency, coordinating with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, the Department of Finance, the Department of Home Affairs and the People's Committees of communes to ensure progress, quality, "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear authority, clear results" according to the province's plan.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh said: "Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has sent a progress report to the Government, ensuring that the groundbreaking takes place in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction."

According to plan, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of two boarding schools in Quang Truc and Thuan An communes will be solemnly held on November 2, chaired and given the groundbreaking order by Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi.

These new schools are designed in a modern way, meeting the learning and living needs of students in remote areas, while also being associated with inclusive education models, preserving ethnic minority cultures and enhancing Vietnamese language teaching for primary school students. Each school is considered a "knowledge milestone" - both a place to sow knowledge and a support for the faith of people in border areas.

"The construction of a boarding school in a border commune marks the first step in the policy of socio-economic development in border areas, islands and particularly difficult areas after the merger. Previously, on October 22, 2025, the Government Office issued Official Dispatch No. 10194/VPCP-KGVX conveying the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the simultaneous groundbreaking of 100 primary and secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities in border communes in October 2025. The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to review and report on the preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony, clearly stating the list of schools, locations, participants and speeches of leaders at all levels. According to Official Dispatch No. 6744 dated October 22 of the Ministry of Education and Training, it is expected that on November 2, the Prime Minister will attend the groundbreaking ceremony of a boarding school in a border province.
