The match between the Vietnamese and Myanmar women's teams in the group stage of the 33rd SEA Games concluded with a resounding victory for Coach Mai Duc Chung's team. The Vietnamese women's team won 2-0 to advance to the semi-finals. Myanmar only needed a draw to reach the semi-finals, but their opponents suffered a comprehensive defeat.

Myanmar media described the post-match press conference on December 11th as a stark contrast to the jubilant atmosphere surrounding the Vietnamese team's victory. Coach Tetsuro Uki entered the press conference with a pensive expression, beginning with a sincere apology to his fans.

"I sincerely apologize to the Myanmar fans for the team not delivering the expected result. The players tried their best throughout the match, but it must be admitted that Vietnam was the stronger team. They organized their play very well, controlled the game, and capitalized on opportunities effectively. Meanwhile, Myanmar today did not play according to their form and plan," coach Tetsuro Uki frankly shared.

The Japanese coach did not shy away from responsibility, admitting the team's shortcomings, particularly in terms of gameplay organization and mentality. According to him, the Myanmar players struggled under constant pressure from Vietnam, leading to regrettable mistakes and an early loss of control of the game.

Coach Tetsuro Uki's remarks ended in silence in the press conference room, a stark contrast to the ecstatic joy on the Vietnamese side. The match not only marked a convincing victory for the Vietnamese team but also opened up many new thoughts and challenges for Myanmar football in the coming period.

Notably, coach Tetsuro Uki submitted his resignation on December 12th. He submitted it to the Myanmar Football Federation, stating that he was ultimately responsible for the team's results. He said he was willing to accept his departure if it could improve Myanmar football in the future.
