At 1:30 PM, the Vietnamese chess team, consisting of Bao Khoa, Dao Thien Hai, Vo Thanh Ninh, Vu Hoang Gia Bao, Tran Quoc Dung, and Pham Thanh Phuong Thao, will compete in the final of the mixed team (4 men + 1 woman) maruk standard chess event. Their opponent will be the winner of the semi-final match between Thailand and the Philippines. In taekwondo, which started at 2:30 PM, Vietnam has three representatives in the semi-finals: Nguyen Thi Loan (women's 53 kg), Ly Hong Phuc (men's 74 kg), and Tran Thi Anh Tuyet (women's 57 kg). Vietnamese athletes are also competing for medals in other martial arts such as karate and judo.
