After the first three days of official competition, the Vietnamese sports delegation has won 24 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 43 bronze medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
This achievement helps the Vietnamese sports delegation maintain its second position in the overall medal standings of the 33rd SEA Games.
Of the 24 gold medals won, the swimming team has the most impressive record with 5 gold medals.
Next, the three teams that have won 3 gold medals each are Athletics, Gymnastics, Petanque, and Taekwondo.
Canoeing contributed 2 gold medals, matching the achievement of the Karate team.
The remaining three gold medals came from the Shooting, Jujitsu, and Judo teams.
Host nation Thailand currently holds a firm lead with 66 gold medals, 43 silver medals, and 28 bronze medals, far ahead of the rest in the overall medal standings.
The Indonesian sports delegation ranked 3rd with 20 gold medals, 28 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals.
The Singapore team won 15 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals, ranking fourth overall.
The Philippines rose to fifth place with 11 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 35 bronze medals, while Malaysia was close behind with 10 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 33 bronze medals.
The next positions are Myanmar (2, 9, 7), Laos (1, 1, 12), Brunei (0, 1, 3) and Timor Leste (0, 0, 2)./.
