Following the conclusion of the group stage matches, the two semi-final pairings for the women's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games have been determined. The Vietnamese women's team, as winners of Group B, will face the Indonesian women's team, runners-up of Group A. Meanwhile, the host nation Thailand (winners of Group A) will clash with the Philippine women's team (runners-up of Group B).

Compared to the recent AFF Cup, the Indonesian women's national team has undergone many changes in its squad. The team now includes several high-quality naturalized players. Regarding the opponent, Coach Mai Duc Chung stated: “I know Indonesia has naturalized players. We have also studied our opponent and will have a strategy to counter their tall and strong players. We will press high, utilize our best abilities, and play in the best possible condition. Even though the opponent has many naturalized players, I believe Vietnam will win.”

Also attending the press conference before the semi-final match was striker Pham Hai Yen. She shared: “My teammates and I are always ready, confident, and united when we step onto the field. We hope to continue receiving the support of the audience.”
Hai Yen further shared her feelings about the honor of wearing the captain's armband during her appearances at this SEA Games. "Personally, when the coaching staff entrusted me with the captain's armband, I felt very confident and still played cohesively with my teammates. Many of us are a team that has been together for many years, so we all know how to strengthen that bond and strive for unity to win," Hai Yen emphasized.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's women's national team coach Akira Higashiyama said: "We are here to make history. This is the first time the Indonesian women's national team has reached the top four at the SEA Games. Regarding the semi-final match, I feel confident and relaxed. Vietnam is a very strong opponent; they have won the SEA Games many times and are a strong contender for the championship. We will try our best to play well in tomorrow's match and win."
This afternoon (December 13th), the Vietnamese women's national team will have a training session at the San Suk stadium to prepare their tactics for the semi-final match against the Indonesian women's national team. The match between the Vietnamese and Indonesian women's national teams will take place at 4 PM on December 14th (Vietnam time) at the Chonburi stadium. Meanwhile, the other semi-final match between the Thai and Philippine women's national teams will take place at 6:30 PM on the same day.
