This figure demonstrates that Vietnam is becoming a leading destination in the region, attracting tourists with its unique culture, beautiful nature, distinctive cuisine, and diverse and rich experiences; confirming the strong recovery of the international tourism market after the pandemic, in which Vietnam is keeping pace with the global recovery trend, continuing to maintain sustainable growth as evidenced by stable growth rates and a high number of returning visitors.

The figure of 20 million international visitors simultaneously affirms the confidence of international tourists in Vietnam – a safe, friendly, and experience-rich destination with endless beauty, both tangible and intangible; marking an important step forward, creating momentum for Vietnam to achieve the goal of 35 million international visitors by 2030, contributing to making tourism a key economic sector and enhancing the national brand.

On this occasion, in mid-December, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with the People's Committee of An Giang province to organize the ceremony to welcome the 20 millionth international tourist at Phu Quoc International Airport. The event will be chaired by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, in coordination with the An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism and other relevant units.

Along with a special welcome ceremony for the 20 millionth passenger on the flight (expected to take place at the aircraft and airport area), the organizers will honor three international passengers: the 19,999,999th, 20,000,000th, and 20,000,001st passengers, along with gifts bearing the unique mark of Phu Quoc.
